We are excited to invite you to our event entitled, "5-Point Compassionate Care Audit: Assess Your Fat Accessibility" (1.5 CEUs available), happening on Monday, November 18 at 2PM ET. Register now at asdah.org/events!

This audit aims to help you improve accessibility and compassionate care for your fat patients or clients, especially those who are superfat.

During the event, attendees audit their work/practice based on the following 5 points:

• Marketing
• Parking/Accessibility
• Reception & Waiting Areas
• Staff Interactions & Policies
• 1:1 Patient/Client-Facing Experience

How to Prepare:

Make a list of details about your practice or space (e.g., floor plans, seating dimensions, accessibility features) to help guide the audit process. We will provide learning objectives and a few resources to help you get started in hopes that you will continue this process after the event has ended.

Diets don’t work

Hi. I’m Michelle Weinbender and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

It might shock you when I tell you I don’t believe in diets, in fact they do not work long term. I help my clients leave diets, and disordered eating behind, and create sustainable healthy habits with food, body image and movement. My mantra is “Healthy at Every Size”.

I’ve found that restrictive diet guidelines for disease management or improved health, can cause disordered eating patterns and feelings of shame and guilt about the restriction that couldn’t be “complied” with. Drastic changes to eating and exercise routines are not sustainable for most lifestyles.

I’m here to help you find the joy in food again, to appreciate your body at any size and live a healthy sustainable life.
