The days are getting longer, and the sun is staying out a little later. Let that be your reminder that light always returns and you have the ability to do that🔆

Even when a day feels heavy, you can bring warmth into it. With your attitude, your words, your presence.

Be gentle with yourself this week, even if the days get tough. Choose softness. Choose kindness. And when you can, lift someone else up too 💜

There’s so much pressure in life to be the best at what we do. If we’re not, we get disappointed in ourselves or feel like we’ve failed. That kind of pressure can make it hard to start anything new, especially when we tell ourselves we won’t be good at it anyway.

This shows up in yoga all the time. Maybe you’ve invited a friend to class and they’ve laughed and said, “Oh no, I’m not good at yoga.” Or maybe someone has told you, “Wow, you’re really good at yoga,” usually meaning how a pose looks.

The idea that being “good at yoga” is based on physical ability is a misconception. Yoga isn’t about whether you can touch your toes, hold a balance forever, or move a certain way. It’s a practice that includes your breath, your mind, and how you experience the moment . It's not a performance nor a scorecard.

Yoga is about practicing without attachment to an outcome. It doesn’t ask for perfection or comparison. You don’t have to prove anything to be here 💜

Our is lolasana. But the REAL focus is shoulders that work!

We all come to movement practices with different goals—some of us want to be able to do arm balances, some of us want to be able to reach the top of the fridge without pain. Even better? You can work on those things, find your breath, and reduce stress. You can build community (like our delightful Gentle Yoga hiking club spontaneously forming in the 11 am class with ).

Whatever moves you, we are excited to move with you.

We love hearing from our community and want to invite you to share a little piece of your yoga experience with us. It doesn’t have to be your whole journey or a perfectly wrapped story. It can be a highlight, a change you’ve noticed, something that surprised you, or even advice you’d give yourself looking back. It might be a moment from class, a shift in how your body feels, a new perspective, or the way your practice shows up off the mat.

It can also be the challenges, the days it felt hard, or something this community has helped you through. Big or small, all of it matters — and you never know what might resonate with someone else.

🙌We’re on the lookout for a Pilates instructor to join our Harmony community, ideally with midday availability. These classes are already well-loved and well-attended, and we’re excited to find a wonderful teacher who’s ready to step in, bring their own style, and support this part of our schedule.

Mark your calendars! This Tuesday, January 27th at 12pm Pilates will be Jacqui Hood’s last class with us. We would love for our community to show up and help us say thank you for everything she has shared at Harmony.

Jacqui has brought so much care, dedication, and heart into her teaching, and we are deeply grateful for the time and energy she’s given to this space and to all of you. She will truly be missed, and we wish her nothing but the best in what’s ahead.

All her classes will be covered by Kari moving forward. We hope to see you as we celebrate Jacqui and the impact she’s had on our community. 💜
