LET ME STIM BRO!
Stimming can be a variety of behaviors from subtle to full body movement or making sounds.
It is a way to
✅ Regulate sensory input by adding necessary stimuli
✅Regulate sensory input by drowning out outside stimuli
✅Regulate emotions and the sensations that come with them
✅Help with focus
✅Releases endorphins.

Unless it results in bodily harm (like head banging), stimming should NOT be stopped , controlled, or restricted.
The stigma around stimming is absurd and unacceptable, especially considering we all stim on a regular basis (check out last week’s post for examples).

I don't have to tell you that fireworks are bright, loud, and rumble the surrounding area. For people who are hyper-attuned to sensory input, this can be too much. GIVE YOURSELF AND OTHERS PERMISSION NOT TO GO. However, if you do want to try it out, we do have a few ideas for you.
