Meet our new collective, INW Tricare Doulas and Lactation!

I began serving Tricare beneficiaries when the Childbirth Support Demonstration started in 2022. I was the only one in Spokane. It quickly grew to more than I could handle, and I partnered with .mamabear Lisa to keep taking on more and more clients. We have been able to keep things rolling and have been able to not turn a single beneficiary down for service. But it's been busy and growing! So we asked for help from others and that's when Melanie and also joined us!
We are so excited to be able to still provide holistic care for birth and postpartum clients, but be able to have the time to do it now that we can share the love!

It was such a full year! I'm very grateful to be able to help so many families through the journey of birth!
2026 is looking like it's going to be another great year. Stay tuned, because I've got some great things in the works!

I LOVE my job! That love keeps the burnout at bay. As well as the amazing parents I get to meet and share the journey with!
However, not every birth is simple or goes according to plan. Doulas help with navigation in that process, of course. And sometimes this job is really emotionally difficult. And that's okay.

I had the privilege of working with these incredibly beautiful parents recently. Here's a bit of their journey:

"We began working with Beth during the third trimester of my pregnancy. Up until that point, everything had been healthy, and we were planning a natural birth at a hospital birth center. At 32 weeks, I developed some health complications that led to additional scans to check on our baby. At 34 weeks and 6 days, we learned our baby had hydrops — fluid around her heart, lungs, and abdomen — with only a 50% chance of survival. The doctors wanted her delivered the next day.

I called Beth in tears that night, and despite little sleep from attending another birth, she showed up for us without hesitation. She comforted me, helped us process the news, and even shared updates with our family when we couldn’t bear it. Her calm, steady presence guided my husband and me through every decision as our birth plan completely changed.

After a successful induction, our baby girl arrived — and by the grace of God, began to cry and clear the fluid on her own. Beth continued to check on us, visiting in the NICU and again when we finally brought her home.

Beth will always be part of our story and our family. We are endlessly grateful for her knowledge, compassion, and love."

Medicaid clients:
Washington State is rolling out birth coverage for you to have a doula in 2025. It begins January 1st->TOMORROW. GOOD NEWS! I am now fully certified and equipped with WA state to take Medicaid!
However, my Tricare roster will fill me up pretty quickly. So please contact me as early as possible to set up an interview.
I look forward to this journey!

I had the amazing privilege of supporting a strong and powerful mom yesterday, as she gave birth to a daughter to complete their lovely family.
Every birth reminds me of just how amazing our bodies truly are. It was such a gift to be present, as always. And I was surprised to get a gift myself.
I do love my job, so much. ❤️

I had the pleasure of spending all day Thursday with a client and her husband, along with some pretty incredible nurses and a very caring OBGyN. This mama was trying for a VBAC, but when handed a fork in the road, she ultimately decided to sacrifice her for the safety of her baby. Parenthood is about bending and putting your kids first, and birth trains us for this.

I took January off from births to be productive in my studies.it worked because I passed! I'm excited to now be a Certified Lactation Counselor.

"We have had Beth for both deliveries and couldn’t be more grateful!

Beth seamlessly became part of our birth team the moment we met. She knew the right questions to ask about our birth plan, so when the big day came she was a fantastic advocate for both my husband and myself.

She can read the situations that arise during labor and help facilitate the communication between the interdisciplinary team. As a laboring mother I was able to focus on my breathing and body rather than trying to stay present enough to ensure my birth plan was being followed.

She read my body through the different stages of labor and know all the massage and counter pressure interventions to use. Those points of relief during labor were one of the main reasons I was able to do both deliveries without an epidural!

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Beth! If we are blessed with another baby we will most certainly be calling her again!"
