Technology is a growing part of our everyday lives and unfortunately style and size often win over ergonomics. Phones, tablets, laptop all force us to bring our hand close together rolling our shoulders forward. Holding these items out in our line of sight is impossive in the case of a laptop and it would quickly fatigue our arms to do so with a tablet or phone. Instead we tend to keep our arms down elbows bent and strain our neck looking down instead.
These poor postural habits can lead to headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist and/or hand pain. It might not be obvious because the pain only arises when you look up and not when you look down as some people might expect. The long term consequences of the poor posture associated with using tablets, laptops and smartphones can be permanent and sever.
It must easier to maintain a healthy posture than correct a bad one but both are possible with Chiropractic care.
