🚗 Riverview's Annual Classic Car Show! 🚗

Cruise on over this Thursday, July 31st from 1–3 PM for the Riverview Classic Car Show!

Enjoy a fantastic lineup of vintage rides courtesy of the Dukes Auto Club, and treat yourself to a hot dog and some lemonade while you stroll through the show. 🌭🍋

The event will be located in the Riverview Aquatic Center parking lot at 1841 E. Upriver Dr., Spokane.

Bring your friends, enjoy some sunshine, and take a step back in time with these beautifully restored classics. We can’t wait to see you there!

🎶Thank you to Andrew Repsold for joining us today at Riverview!🎶

Andrew is a percussion teacher at Gonzaga University, and also plays in the Spokane Symphony. Today, he played a concert of Marimba and Vibraphone for our residents, and taught us all a few things about each instrument between songs. The vibraphone was especially interesting, as he demonstrated how the motors in the instrument rotate beneath to create a vibrato effect! Andrew also spoke about how some arrangements were made for other musical mediums, such as choir or cello, which were then written for the marimba to emulate the different sounds. We all had a great time learning and listening to Andrew play several pieces!

He also brought his wife and 4 adorable sons along for the concert. Thank you all again for the wonderful evening!

🎶Join us tomorrow for Riverview Presents: Andrew Repsold! 🎶

Andrew is a percussion teacher at Gonzaga University, and plays with the Spokane Symphony. He will be playing marimba and vibraphone. Come on down to the Terrace Chapel at 2PM to enjoy the music and learn about these beautiful instruments! There will also be a reception to follow in the 1st Floor Terrace Solarium.

🥳Happy birthday to all of our July residents here at Riverview!🎂

Our Terrace Rec Room is currently being remodeled, but that didn't stop us from celebrating with an icecream party to beat the heat this month! 🍦Everyone got a choice of Vanilla, cookies and cream, or Spumoni ice cream, and whatever combination of toppings they liked! It was a great day to have fun, eat ice cream, and chat with friends. Thank you to all of our residents who came to celebrate!

It discusses several of the countless things that Yvette contributes to our community, including many of our community art projects, meditation classes, and of course her spiritual guidance that helps so many of our residents feel right at home. Her leadership focuses on helping to nurture the body, mind, and spirit. We will always appreciate everything you do! ❤️🙏

🎶 Thank you to Lilac City Community Band for joining us here at Riverview yesterday! 🪻

Residents were treated to a wonderful performance from the 50+ piece band, who set up on the Terrace lawn and played an awesome show! We also had popcorn and lemonade to snack on during the set. While it was a bit windy, the band played on with their incredible talent and joyful energy! 🎷🥁🎺

Also, a huge thank you to the many generous people who donated to the band, as we were able to raise a whopping $287! 💸 The Lilac City Community Band is all volunteers, and the donations are greatly appreciated!

Overall, it was a wonderful evening of music and smiles all around. We can't wait for the next one! 💐

Last week, our very own Director of Rehabilitation April Ritter gave a talk on Aquatic Therapy here at Riverview! 🏊🥽

April talked about the benefits of Aquatic Therapy, as well as how Riverview has its own temperature-controlled pool and lazy river that have many therapeutic uses! Controlling the water temperature allows us to keep it warmer than the average swimming pool, which helps when performing therapy exercises. We offer several water-based classes and activities that keep our residents moving, and the lazy river can be used for low-impact resistance training or just a fun trip around the pool!

🪻Lilac City Community Band is coming to Riverview!🪻

On Tuesday, July 15th at 6:30PM, grab a chair and a cozy blanket, and come on down to the Terrace Patio! There will be a performance by the 50+ piece Lilac City Community Band, with some of your favorite marches and patriotic songs. Popcorn and lemonade will be available, but feel free to bring a picnic. 🧺🍿 All are welcome!

Yesterday, Riverview was visited by mini therapy horses Charlie and Peanut! 🐎🐎

Thank you to SaddleUp Pony Academy, who brought them by the Veranda to visit our memory care residents, and then over to the Terrace patio for even more pets and carrots! Our residents loved seeing the adorable mini horses sporting their vests, as well as Peanut's tiny hat. 🐴🥕

A huge thank you again to SaddleUp Pony Academy for sharing these beautiful animals with us. We’re already looking forward to the next visit!
