🧑‍⚕️ Tips from a Physical Therapist: How to Relieve Sore Back & Neck While Working at Your Desk! 💻🪑
Sitting at a desk all day can really take a toll on your posture and muscles. Here are some simple tips to help you stay comfortable and avoid back and neck pain:
1️⃣ Set Up an Ergonomic Workspace
- Ensure your monitor is at eye level, your chair supports your lower back, and your feet are flat on the ground.
- Keep your elbows at a 90-degree angle when typing.
2️⃣ Take Frequent Breaks ⏱️
- Stand up, stretch, and walk around for at least 5 minutes every hour.
3️⃣ Strengthen Your Core 💪
- A strong core helps support your back. Try planks, bridges, and other core exercises to improve posture and reduce strain.
4️⃣ Neck and Shoulder Stretches 🙆‍♀️
- Gently stretch your neck by tilting your head from side to side, and roll your shoulders back to ease tension.
5️⃣ Practice Good Posture
- Keep your shoulders relaxed, avoid slouching, and align your head with your spine. Consider using a lumbar roll or cushion for extra support.
6️⃣ Stay Hydrated & Move
- Drink water to keep muscles hydrated and energized. Movement throughout the day keeps stiffness at bay!
