Spokane Pride was a wonderful event this year! Our team came together to walk in the parade and were honored to have Tristan and their partner join us.

We saw so many people, provided free Narcan and training on how to use it, and had an incredible day!

Would you like to have someone to walk with in the PRIDE parade this year? Join us downtown - we'd love to have you walk with us! *** Parade line up spot #30

Compassionate Addiction Treatment (CAT) will also have a booth - #31; as you leave the Clock Tower field heading towards the bridge to the Flour Mill - there you'll find us!

The weather is set to be beautiful. We look forward to seeing you!

We'll be handing out free Narcan at our booth - the more we have out in our community the better prepared we all are.

This quote rings true to us every day, and we feel it especially deeply right now. "Hope will never be silent." Harvey Milk

Spokane Pride, thank you for the many hours of work and preparation to make this day a reality for all of us.

Hi Community! This is a reminder that the Sobering Center, located at 124 E Short, operated through funding provided by the Washington State Department of Commerce, is closing on May 31, 2025. This service was created in connection to Camp Hope.

155 people who resided at Camp Hope received services at the Sobering Center, with an average stay length of 33 days. People received support accessing Medication Assisted Treatment, SUD assessments, navigation into treatment, and housing case management. People were welcome to stay until they had access to housing and folks were navigated from the Sobering Center directly into Catalyst, Transitional Housing, Rapid Rehousing, and Permanant Housing options.

For the past two months the Sobering Center has beened opened up to the community and provided services to an additional 54 people, with an average stay length of 10 days. All recovery supports and navigation were provided with folks exiting to enter treatment, appropriate shelter beds within the new Scatter Site shelter system, as well as housing options as available.

CAT's sobering center welcomed people with their pets, and welcomed couples (with seperate sleeping spaces), helping to overcome barriers that are in place in other sobering and detox centers. We transported people to court, treatment, medical and mental health appointments in order to support stabilization and movement towards individual goals.

It has been a priviledge to provide these critical services to our community. As we close up the Sobering Center, we're reflecting on so many positive journeys that began here and wish the best of success to each and every person that participated in this service.

Thank you to our community partners for your collaboration and mutual support of the people we have served. It takes all of us working together to support our community members experiencing homelessness. We celebrate the folks that have been with us who are now housed, and continue to cheer on and support the folks still seeking housing.

CAT continues to provide SUD Assessments, IOP/OP, the Recovery Options Center (Scatter Site Shelter - 20 beds), MAT, and Housing and Employment Case Management, as well as OAN IT (begin navigation to services while in the county jail) at our center located at 960 E 3rd Ave.

After years of dedicated service, Hallie Burchinal is stepping away from their role as Executive Director of Compassionate Addiction Treatment. As a founder, Hallie has been the driving force behind our mission to remove barriers to care and increase access to vital services, and we are deeply grateful for their vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment.

While this marks the end of an era, it is also the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

We are pleased to announce that Daniel Marte will be stepping in as Interim Executive Director. Daniel brings a wealth of experience in supporting and guiding a compassionate team and holding true to our mission. We’re confident he will provide thoughtful leadership and continuity during this transition.

Please join us in thanking Hallie Burchinal for their incredible service and in welcoming Daniel Marte as the new ED! 💙

Yesterday near the end of day Jewels Helping Hands reached out to our team to let us know there are some folks in a camp that would like our support. Our MAT peer navigator and two housing case managers went out today, met with folks, offered our services, and ended the visit with transporting a person to our walk in MAT clinic. This is what collaboration can look like. When we work together, we decrease barriers and can get folks where they wish to be.

Our community is thriving in this spring weather, with the understanding that today is a rare early day of sunshine. Community is what gives us Hope and strengthens our determination to meet our individual goals.

We’ll be hiring a MAT provider in the near future. Until then, we’re in need of a volunteer or two to support our walk in MAT clinic. Our two incredible long term volunteers welcome some help. If you can volunteer four hours, one day a week, OR cover a shift when our volunteers take much deserved vacation, please contact us. ❤️

Our team is seekinga volunteer medical provider for our low barrier walkin Burprenorphine (Suboxone) clinic. If you're looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity and have an active, or retired active license as an MD, ARNP, or PA, please reach out to us via hallie@catspokane.org.

Compassionate Addiction Treatment is part of the Volunteer and Retired Providers Program through Washington State Department of Health.

We look forward to hearing from you!

We’ve been busy!

In January we moved to 960 E 3rd Ave. We’re centered in our mission and have added a recovery focused scatter site shelter. Our teams are providing wraparound services including Outpatient Treatment, Peer Support, Medication Assisted Treatment, Housing and Employment Case Management, Sobering Center support, and Reentry navigation and peer support.

We are grateful for strong collaboration within our community helping our community members in attaining their individual goals.

Advocating for our community is important to us. We were happy to send team members with lived experience to Olympia for both Recovery Advocacy Day and Housing and Homeless Advocacy Day.

2025 is off to a great start. We’re working from a place of gratitude and feel motivated and inspired. We’d like to thank our community partners and everyone that supports our organization and the people we serve.
