We wanted to say thank you to members of the Eau Claire VFW Post 7232 who did their VFW Day of Service Event at NWVMC today. This is the second year they have hosted an event here and have helped us by scrubbing and cleaning our memorial monuments. Thank you for helping our caretakers keep our cemetery looking beautiful.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Memorial Day ceremony this past weekend. We appreciate the many volunteers, musicians, and veteran service organizations who came together to help us honor and remember our fallen heroes. WDVA Secretary James Bond was our featured guest speaker and gave a solemn, hopeful tribute to their memory and sacrifices.

Can you help us prepare for Memorial Day? Our caretaker team is looking for volunteers for a couple of days and to help us with two important tasks.

- Flower planting on Tuesday, May 20, starts at 8:30 a.m. until done. If interested, please bring your own planting gear (work gloves, shovels, etc.)

- Headstone cleaning is set for Wednesday, May 21st, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. If interested, please bring a bucket and a soft-bristle nylon brush if you have one. We have some supplies, but we may not have enough if we get more than 6 volunteers.

No registration required to volunteer. Please show up on the date and times listed above. Thank you!

Spring has really sprung here in Spooner, and the daffodils are in bloom, taking in the warm sunshine! It is also our first day that the grass has been long enough for our caretakers to mow. We hope you all have been able to get outside and enjoy a slice of springtime in Wisconsin today!
