A special shout of thanks to Mya Davidson and her family and friend for their generous donation of crocheted lap blankets! Mya had a goal to make blankets for us this summer, and with her grandma's help, she was able to complete them and pass them out to our residents. Thank you so much for the thoughtful gifts!

Some of the guys got out on Spooner Lake for a fishing trip! Rick from AAA Sportshop hosted the trip and even cooked up some of our catches for us to enjoy. It was a blast being out on the water and casting some lines! Thanks, Rick!

Please help us thank Rayanna, CNA, for going Above & Beyond! An anonymous submission shared, "I am a co-worker of Ray’s and she helps out so much. It doesn't matter what wing she's on, you can call and she shows up to help. She is so good to our residents and they all love her. She truly cares about all of them. She hasn't been a CNA for that long, but she sure has stepped into the role and nailed it. I just want to thank her for going that extra mile every day. You definitely deserve an above and beyond award."

Thanks so much for your hard work, Rayanna! We sincerely appreciate your willingness to go Above & Beyond in your role.

Please help us thank Bethanie, LPN, for going Above & Beyond! Sky shared, "Bethanie is a direct care nurse that always goes above and beyond no matter what. Whenever any of the CNAs bring something about a resident’s needs to her attention, she addresses it immediately and looks for a solution that helps the CNAs to give prompt and proper care, in turn giving the residents the care they deserve. She is always willing to help in any situation, and we appreciate everything that she does!"

Thanks so much, Bethanie, for continuing to go Above & Beyond! We are happy to have you on your team.

Time for another employee spotlight! Meet Jen, a laundry aide in our environmental services department! Jen has been a dedicated member of our team for 17 years. She began her journey in the nutritional services department, where she worked for about 12 years, followed by four years in recreation. Most recently, she celebrated her one-year anniversary in the environmental services department.

Jen’s favorite part of working here is “The sense of family I feel with my co-workers and the time I get to spend visiting with residents.” Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and going fishing.

We’re so grateful to have such compassionate, hardworking individuals like Jen on our team. Her dedication and love for our residents truly make a difference every day!

The Heart of the North Spooner Rodeo was one to remember! We had a blast catching all of the action with our friends next door at Dove Healthcare - Spooner Assisted Living on a beautiful summer night. Our favorite parts of the show were Gizmo the Clown, and of course, the bull riding and roping! The rodeo is one of our most anticipated events to attend each year, and it surely lived up to the excitement again this year. Thank you to everyone at the rodeo for your hospitality!

All hail the king and queen! Our royalty took a stroll on the trishaw as part of the Spooner Rodeo Parade this past weekend! Barb, a resident of ours, and Vern, her husband of over 70 years, were crowned our king and queen this year, and truly got the royal treatment! We'd like to thank our friends from Dove Healthcare - Barron Assisted Living, Dove Healthcare - Rice Lake, and Dove Healthcare - Bloomer for allowing us to use the trishaws from their communities during the parade.

We'd like to shine a spotlight on Cheryl, one of our environmental services aides here in Spooner! Cheryl joined our team in May 2023 and has been a dedicated team member ever since. She has never missed a scheduled shift and often goes above and beyond by picking up extra shifts on her days off.

When asked about the best part of her job, Cheryl shared, “I love my residents. I just want to make sure they’re happy and well cared for.”

In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys cuddling with her fur babies and spending time working in her yard.

Thank you, Cheryl, for all of your hard work!

We are excited to announce the HomeGROWN promotion of Emily Gudis to director of operations for Dove Healthcare’s six assisted living locations!

Emily is responsible for overall performance and operations, which includes supervising the assisted living directors and assisted living nurse consultants. Our assisted living locations will benefit greatly from an enhanced, collaborative focus on developing goals, implementing strategy, identifying efficiencies, and leveraging resources

Dove Healthcare has experienced great success over the years with our HomeGROWN approach: recognizing passion, dedication, and capabilities in team members and then supporting them with growth as opportunity arises.

Emily is the perfect fit for this new position having achieved multiple promotions since joining our team almost 10 years ago. She has advanced from resident assistant, lead resident assistant, assistant director, director, multi-location director, and administrator.

We are thankful for Emily’s amazing results with employee recruitment and retention, strong occupancy, positive survey performance, and overall operations. Her breadth of experience - combined with positivity, passion, and commitment - has prepared her for success as director of operations – assisted living.

Emily and her husband stay busy raising their two young children and tending to the needs of their growing hobby farm.

Please help us in congratulating Emily on this HomeGROWN promotion!
