A recent study from Columbia University suggests that children who have dinner with their family at least four times a week tend to perform better academically. Regular family meals provide opportunities for communication, emotional bonding, and parental engagement, which can positively influence a child’s learning habits. These shared meals also create structured routines that promote discipline and consistency in daily life. Additionally, family dinners offer a supportive environment for discussing schoolwork and encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. Overall, the practice of eating together strengthens both social and cognitive skills in children.

A covenant from God is a solemn promise and agreement, often with specified terms, made between God and people through which God promises to bless them in return for their obedience. Key examples in the Bible include the covenants with Noah (no more floods), Abraham (descendants, land), Moses (Law), David (eternal kingdom), and the New Covenant through Jesus Christ, which offers forgiveness and a restored relationship with God

As you work to make one or many areas of your life better, there is a powerful principle you can use called “The Consistency Effect,” which is simply, “Small things done consistently, over time, lead to big things.”
Commitment and motivation are good; they can get you to the starting line. They can set your intention. But consistency will get you to the finish line. You can change your life with small, consistent steps in the right direction (discipline).

Small things, done consistently over time, lead to big things. What are the small things you can do daily to make big changes in your life? Where will your potential weaknesses be?
Analyze the five areas of your life: financial, relational, physical, work, and spiritual. Where within these areas could you do things better?

Simple does not mean easy. Some of the simplest things in the world are, in fact, the most challenging. Simple doesn't mean quick; some of the simplest things take the longest time to accomplish. Simple doesn't mean comfortable. Sometimes Progress will make us more uncomfortable before we get comfortable. Simple doesn't mean neat. Sometimes the process can be messy.
Here's what I've learned: we only change when the pain of the status quo becomes greater than the pain of making a change. When our road to change is difficult, know it's not more difficult than staying where you are.
