SVFD crews are constantly training to ensure we continue providing the highest level of service to the citizens of Spotsylvania County.

Last evening, crews from Company 1 conducted hands-on training for our recruits, focusing on pulling and operating handlines. This training is essential in building confidence and preparing our newest members for real-world emergency situations.

Our newly trained Driver/Pump Operators (DPOs) also had the opportunity to spend valuable time working on the pumps, sharpening their skills and gaining experience.

Great work by everyone involved—your dedication and commitment to serving our community does not go unnoticed! 🚒

Our own Firefighter Jessica Allen! Great work by all!

This past weekend, personnel from FREM and SVFD participated in the 2026 VEHEXT program, hosted by the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad in Charlottesville, VA.

The intensive 2.5-day training program is designed to educate and challenge first responders in advanced vehicle extrication techniques.
