🌱For some the holidays are stressful, but for me they bring peace.

I'm not saying that they're not busy and don't have moments of crazy; but even amid all of that they can bring great peace.

The extra focus on Christ this season helps me feel even more peace than usual. Remember why Christmas is celebrated and focus on Christ. If you do, you'll have peace in your heart no matter what.

🌱 No matter what other people post, no matter how amazing their lives seem to be, they have struggles, just like you and me. We all have difficult times. That's part of being alive.
They key is not what you're going through, it's how you deal with it, what you do with it.
During a very difficult time for me I started a glad jar with my kids. It really changed me and pulled me out of a dark place. Now, I say a prayer of gratitude (just thanking not asking) first thing every morning. I also pull out my glad journal when I find myself going down that path in my brain again.

Why is it that the ONLY thing every child willingly shares is sickness?? School is back in session and with it comes the runny noses, coughs, colds, and worse. When my kids were young I felt like I spent most of my time driving them around to their various activities. A couple of magpies built a nest in one of the trees in our yard. The tree is right outside my kitchen window actually, so when I was washing dishes or making meals I could watch them at their work. I'm not a fan of magpies generally speaking. They're loud and squawk at me when I go outside. They p**p all over my deck and scare away the smaller birds that I DO like having in the yard....

🌱I just got back from the Philippines! Such an amazing trip!!!! There are beautiful landscapes with the ocean, birds, flowers and more! But what I really fell in love with are the humble, kind, happy Filipino people! Wow!!!
