It's time and today we are featuring a photo of the Riceford Mill from our Garness Photo Collection. At one time Riceford was a bustling town that had many businesses including two general stores, two grain mills, two blacksmith shops and two hotels. Riceford also had a school and a church. Now of the community buildings and businesses only the church is still standing, along with a few residences.

This Veteran's Day, we thank and remember the veterans in our community. We have been fortunate to interview and record several local veterans over the years, and in honor of Veteran's Day today, we invite you to check out this playlist of our oral histories from World War II veterans.

This , we have an extra special announcement about prizes: if you solve this week's treasure hunt, you'll get three pieces of candy instead of just one! To claim your prize, you just have to find this lovely lady who's hiding our candy hoard*. We'll give you this hint: she's somewhere upstairs, so you'll have to go into the exhibits to find her.

*(Note that the candy hoard is not actually with the cow.)

It's once again ! Last weekend, we celebrated a major documentary that has been in the works for many years about farm families in the area. Dear Land isn't the only way we've been recording and sharing the stories of area farmers, though. Several of the oral histories on our youtube channel highlight the stories of such farm families, including this week's throwback to the interview we did with Barb Solum and Richard Storlie a few years ago. You can watch the interview here: https://shorturl.at/dqSbO

We're looking for more parts or elements compatible with a Lionel train set 0-27 gauge. We've been gifted a partial set, and hope to feature it in a fun community exhibit during the holiday season. The more we get, the bigger the exhibit can be! If you have anything you're willing to lend us from now through the holiday season, please let us know!
