Thank you so much to Andrew Pearson for this wonderful article about the mayors event!

Seven of the last nine mayors of the city of Spring Hill, and the widow of one absent one, gathered in City Hall recently for a forum hosted by the Spring Hill Historical and Genealogical Society. Sixteen-year-old Benny Jett, the president of the Society, threw the mayors softball questions, most of...

It’s official, I’m a candidate in an election! Just never thought it would be this one. 😂

I sincerely believe that all the candidates in this election are worthy of being grand marshal. I am not going to force you to vote one way over the other, but I would definitely encourage you to vote BBBBenny Jett for Grand Marshal. (Thank you to Elton John for the epic campaign song. 😂) It would truly be my greatest honor to be Grand Marshal of this year’s Christmas Parade.

Best BOMA meeting ever!

During Monday night's BOMA meeting, Spring Hill resident Benny Jett was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the Board for his dedication to the community.

Coming up November 4, the Spring Hill, TN Historical & Genealogical Society will be hosting a forum with seven of the eight living former Spring Hill mayors, along with Mayor Matt Fitterer. Benny has played a major role in putting this event together and will serve as the moderator for the discussion.

Benny also took the time to shine the plaque on the outside of City Hall ahead of the event. Thank you, Benny, for all you do to give back to Spring Hill!

Here lately I have been putting together an event called Meeting Adjourned: An Evening with Spring Hill’s Former Mayors and I decided to clean City Hall’s front plaque which states the names of two of my late friends, Naomi Derryberry and Billy Kinnard. The result? Me getting caught of guard with a Certificate of Appreciation from the City and forgetting how to do everything but breathe at tonight’s BOMA meeting. 😂 Watch the meeting video online and my actions will prove to you how caught of guard I was. Thank you so much to the Mayor, City Administrator, and all of our Aldermen for this certificate! There is going to be a new frame on my wall very soon.

Next year is America’s 250th birthday! To commemorate the anniversary of America’s independence, we have many different things planned, one being a Spring Hill Cookbook. During the Homecoming ‘86 celebrations, Spring Hill put together a cookbook with help from many Spring Hill residents. Now, almost 40 years later, we are wanting to recreate that same process and enlist your help to compile a new commemorative cookbook. The cookbook will also feature old recipes from local historic cookbooks along with historical facts/information about Spring Hill throughout. Below is a form we have created to help you write down your recipes! Once you have filled out the form, you can either bring it to one of our monthly gatherings or mail it to us at the address below. We hope you can help us with this exciting project!
