The difference between what my page is about and what is not. I work with mental wellness. Here is the definition:

Mental illness and mental wellness are two distinct concepts within the realm of mental health:

Mental illness: Mental illness refers to a wide range of conditions that affect a person's thinking, mood, behavior, and overall mental well-being. These conditions can vary in severity and duration and may include disorders such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and others. Mental illnesses are diagnosed based on specific criteria outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
Mental wellness: Mental wellness, on the other hand, refers to a state of overall well-being in which an individual realizes their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively, and make meaningful contributions to their community. It encompasses emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Mental wellness involves maintaining a positive mindset, practicing self-care, having healthy relationships, managing stress effectively, and seeking support when needed.

In summary, mental illness refers to specific conditions that negatively impact mental health, while mental wellness is a broader concept that encompasses overall well-being and positive mental health. It is important to promote mental wellness and seek help when experiencing mental illness symptoms to maintain optimal mental health.

Hey everyone,

Today I want to talk about something that's close to my heart - overcoming depression. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to feel like you're in a dark place, but I also know firsthand that there is hope for a brighter future.

Sometimes, the first step is the hardest, but know that you're not alone. There are people who care about you and resources available to help you overcome the challenges you're facing.

It took me a while to find what worked for me and it was a journey-but with help and support, I was able to get to a place where I feel happy and like myself again.

So if you're struggling, know that it's okay to ask for help and take the time you need to prioritize your mental health. You're not alone, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Let's keep talking about mental health and spreading awareness. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels empowered and supported.
