Dr. Marc Robert Polecritti, D.O. is the founder of The Julian Institute of Plastic Surgery and a double board-certified surgeon in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery as well as General Surgery.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he graduated at the top of his class from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning membership into the honors society Psi Sigma Alpha. He went on to complete his General Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Horizon where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a two-year fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Today, Dr. Polecritti and his team provide both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery with the training and experience to meet and exceed patient needs. He is on staff at several Florida hospitals including Spring Hill Regional, Brooksville Regional, Oak Hill, and Bayonet Point, and is covered by all major insurance carriers.

The Julian Institute of Plastic Surgery is named after his son, Julian, a name meaning “to be youthful,” perfectly reflecting the mission of the practice.

Throwback Thursday
Six years ago, we introduced Dr. Derek Polecritti to our patients. Since then, he’s built a strong reputation for his expertise in plastic and reconstructive surgery, always guided by skill, compassion, and dedication. A milestone worth celebrating!

Everyone please help us welcome Dr. Derek Polecritti to the practice! A little bit about him:

Derek C Polecritti, DO is a board eligible Plastic, Reconstructive, and hand surgeon. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Polecritti achieved his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University with a major in life sciences and minors in psychology and biology. He then went on to the University of Pennsylvania where he performed biomedical research. Using his older brother Marc as inspiration in medicine and finally plastic surgery, he went on to medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2012. Dr. Polecritti then completed four years of general surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Horizon Hospital. He then went on Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines, IA where he completed a three year fellowship in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery serving as Chief Fellow his senior year.

Dr. Polecritti has contributed to multiple national conferences presenting on Breast Reconstruction and Breast Implant Illness as well as coauthoring a chapter of the text book, Clinics in Facial Plastic Surgery.

In his free time, Dr. Polecritti enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their baby girl Pippa. Their favorite activity is enjoying the Florida outdoors with their whippet, Wiley.

Dr. Marc Polecritti was featured as a speaker at the Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Surgeons in Boston, proving that even back then he wasn’t just fixing things in the OR, he was teaching other surgeons how to do it too.
