With open enrollment for insurance around the corner, for those 65 and up, make sure that you understand the differences between straight Medicare and Medicare advantage plans. There’s been a lot of scrutiny with the advantage plans, but overall just make sure to understand the difference between the two before talking to an insurance agent. Remember with the advantage plans many physicians are not always in network so sometimes it’s tough to see doctors outside of a primary care physician.
Original Medicare lets you see any provider that accepts Medicare, while Medicare Advantage may be a better option if you can’t afford a Medigap plan.
