🎉 Celebrating 4 Years of Dedea, M.D. Family Medicine 🎉

This month marks 4 years since I opened the doors of our practice in January 2022 right here in Spring Hill.

When I started, it was just me.
Answering the phones.
Seeing a handful of patients.
Working two additional locum jobs just to pay the bills — all while trying to build a practice rooted in a clear vision: compassionate, high-quality, community-based care.

Along the way, I met so many incredible people — through business relationships, employment, networking, and fellow physician colleagues — who helped shape what this practice has become. They say the first year of private practice is rough, and by year two you either make it or break it.

I’m proud to say… we made it.

Today, we are:
• 2 physicians
• 2 midlevels
• 2 medical assistants
• 2 front desk team members
• 1 amazing office manager
• And yes… a cleaning crew 😉

I no longer answer the phones with, “Good morning, this is Lauren, how can I help you?” — followed by the inevitable, “Wait… is this Dr. Lauren answering the phones?”
And you’re far less likely to catch me after hours in yoga pants and a T-shirt cleaning my little office…
(though I’ll admit — I still clean on weekends because I just can’t help it 😄).

This milestone isn’t just about growth — it’s about community, resilience, teamwork, and staying true to the original vision, even when the journey was hard. They dont teach you skills on running a private practice in medical school.

To our patients, staff, colleagues, and community: thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and growing with us.

Here’s to what we’ve built — and to what’s still ahead. 💙

Today we have a couple of special acknowledgements we’d love to celebrate!

First, a huge congratulations to our Medical Assistant, Stormi, on her one-year work anniversary! Stormi has been an incredible asset to our team—always dependable, compassionate with our patients, and willing to step in wherever she’s needed. We are so grateful for her dedication and the positive energy she brings to our office every day.

We also want to send a belated but very heartfelt Happy Birthday to our amazing Practice Manager, Vanessa! 🎂🎉 Vanessa is truly the backbone of our practice, keeping everything running smoothly with her leadership, organization, and unwavering commitment to our team and patients.

We are so thankful to have both of these incredible women as part of our Dedea, M.D. Family Medicine family! 💙👏
