Pardon the language, but this is such great info. And to clarify the part where she says “eating as many calories as possibly to lose weight” … you don’t want to be in such a drastic deficit that you’re hungry all the time (and then binge), or you start losing muscle instead of fat (and feel like crap). So if your 12 x goal weight = 2000 - EAT EM ALL! ENJOY!

One more side note - if you have more than 20 pounds to lose, you may want to set that goal weight in increments of 20 so that you are still getting enough calories. For example, if you’re 250 and want to be 150, your first calculation would be 230 x 12 = 2,760 calories.

Stop weighing yourself constantly!

Scale obsession is not helpful for weight loss. The rise in cortisol from scale anxiety alone is enough to stifle your progress.

If you’re trying to lose weight, keep the following in mind before stepping on a scale:

-Water weight: Some people can lose up to 11 pounds of water weight in just 2 days! Initial water weight loss can cause unrealistic expectations. Most people only lose 1 to 2 pounds per week.

-Salt: Salty foods can cause you to retain fluid, especially if you’re consuming them with sugar.

-Hormones: A woman’s menstrual cycle can often cause weight-loss fluctuations of around 3 to 7 pounds.
