The fourth, May the Forth be with you.
The fifth, Cinco de Mayo.
May 7th, National Day of Prayer.
There is power in prayer and in the name of Jesus.
The National Day of Prayer is a good reminder to pause, reflect, and turn our attention toward God. In the middle of busy lives and constant noise, prayer creates space for humility, gratitude, and renewed perspective. It invites individuals and communities to seek wisdom, healing, and unity beyond what we can accomplish on our own.
Prayer isn’t just personal—it’s relational and transformational. We lift up families, leaders, and communities, asking for guidance and strength. It’s a moment to remember that faith can be a source of hope in uncertain times and a foundation for compassion and understanding.
Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places”
Revelation 12:11 “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”
PSALMS for different seasons of life:
•Overwhelmed/Seeking Shelter: Psalm 55, Psalm 61, and Psalm 62 offer refuge.
•Healing: Psalm 30, Psalm 41, and Psalm 103 are often prayed for restoration.
•Guidance/Walking with God: Psalm 119:33-40 is a plea for direction.
•Thanksgiving: Psalm 71 and Psalm 116 focus on gratitude for answered prayers
When we don’t know what to pray:
Romans 8:26-27 “The Spirit helps us in our weakness. For when we do not know what to pray, the Spirit himself intercedes for us with wordless groanings. And He who searches the hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because He intercedes for the holy ones according to the will of God.”
Not just on the National Day of Prayer, but daily, pray for your family, spouse, kids, enemies, neighbors, church, leaders, government, business, orphans, widows, missionaries. Pray for healing, deliverance, salvation, strength, hope, forgiveness, compassion, wisdom, freedom and anything that is heavy on your heart.
