Stress isn’t just in your mind — your body feels it too. 💭➡️ Elevated cortisol (your stress hormone) can impact sleep, mood, weight, skin health, and even your immune system.

Here are 8 everyday habits that may be quietly raising your stress levels:
☕ Too much coffee (especially on an empty stomach)
🍳 Skipping breakfast
📱 Scrolling first thing in the morning
🏋️ Over-exercising
🧺 Living in constant clutter
💬 Bottling up emotions
✅ Striving for perfection
🎢 Forgetting to make time for fun

The good news? Small changes can create a big difference. Eating a balanced breakfast, giving yourself screen-free mornings, practicing gentle movement, and allowing yourself joy throughout the day can calm your nervous system and lower cortisol.

✨ Remember: when you support your stress levels, you’re also supporting your skin, immune system, and overall wellness.

Is fall air making it harder to breathe? 🍂💨
Cooler weather and falling leaves are beautiful, but they can also make asthma symptoms worse. Cold air, mold from damp leaves, and lingering ragweed pollen all work together to trigger coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath.

Preparation is the best protection. Staying on track with medications, knowing your personal triggers, and checking in with your provider can help keep symptoms under control. Even little changes like wearing a scarf over your nose in the mornings or using an air purifier at home can make a big difference.

At Skin and Allergy Center, we want you to breathe easier this season 👨‍⚕️🩺 Whether it is a fall hike, a football game, or a cozy evening by the fire, you deserve to enjoy it without worrying about your breathing.

Are your hands trying to tell you something?✋
Dryness, redness, and itching might look like small problems, but they can be the early signs of dermatitis. Left untreated, those little irritations can turn into painful cracks, swelling, or even infection.

The good news is that small steps can make a huge difference. Wearing protective gloves, drying your hands well, moisturizing often, and checking your skin regularly can help keep your hands healthy and comfortable.

At Skin and Allergy Center, we want your skin to do more than look good. We want it to feel good too, so you can move through your day with confidence and comfort 👩‍⚕️🩺💙

Fall in Tennessee is beautiful, but it can be tough for allergy sufferers. This weekend’s forecast shows ragweed on Friday, mold on Saturday, and leaf debris on Sunday — three of the most common seasonal triggers.

If you notice sneezing, itchy eyes, or sinus pressure, it might be time to take extra precautions. Keep windows closed on high pollen days, swap your HVAC filters regularly, and shower after spending time outdoors to wash away allergens.

We’re here to help you breathe easier this season with testing, treatment options, and expert guidance tailored to your needs. Don’t let fall allergies steal your comfort.

Fall is almost here, but that doesn’t mean sunscreen season is over. UV rays are present all year long — even on cool or cloudy days — and can cause skin damage, premature aging, and pigmentation if you skip protection.

Make SPF part of your daily routine, just like brushing your teeth. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning to your face, neck, and any exposed skin. It’s one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect your skin’s health all year round.

We can help you choose the perfect SPF for your skin type and lifestyle so you’ll stay protected in every season.
