A yoga sangha is special--it is much more than a gym! We follow these guidelines as we grow in all the limbs of practice:

The path to better health and inner radiance should be accessible to all. Our yoga community is dedicated to inclusion: people of all abilities, sizes, racial and gender identities are welcome here. The studio offers services and events at fair prices with free, sliding scale, and scholarship opportunities available. We recognize the earth beneath the studio has a long history and our practice includes honoring the indigenous peoples of the land and environmental stewardship for the future. The wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda is a gift; one which has been both generously shared and culturally appropriated. Our teachers pledge to honor the lineage of gurus through recognizing the history and culture of South Asia.

Fascia is to our form as quanta is to physics: a place where definitions cease to make logical sense, but observations clearly indicate some type of irregular or non-linear purpose. One thing we know for sure: we are whole and movement is always global in our bodies.

Join Sandy in the next ReX Method Workshop: Fascinating Fascia on January 10th from 2-5pm. Explore the complexity and new science of this metasystem that connects, directs, and creates both form and freedom.

All are welcome, no prior experience or knowledge is necessary. Pre-registration is requested. See our website for all of the upcoming workshops and events.

We LOVE beginners! And "always" beginners who keep an open mind to learning different perspectives.

Even weird ones 🤣

This week we begin a 7 week series on the Chakras in a special meditation class as well as in our regular Foundations of Hatha Yoga classes. Chakras are known as energy wheels (literally) or hubs of subtle awareness and elemental qualities.

While in the West, the Chakras are generally depicted as a colorful rainbow of energy levels rising from the base of the spine, historically there are many more understandings.

Basically, the energetic flow of the subtle body is multi-faceted. Different yoga lineages have developed a variety of philosophies, including the concept of two energetic flows--one ascending from the base of the spine and one descending from the crown. There are also the individual stories of the body which can influence how we sense our energy and how to manage it.

Join Sandy:
>>Mondays at 4-5pm for our Meditation and the Subtle Body
>>Tuesdays at 5:30pm or Wednesdays at 10:30am for a Hatha Yoga practice
Each week will highlight the subtle aspects of the seven major Chakras along the central channel of the body.

Last evening was a beautiful start to our Seasons of the Sage circle. We honored the winter season of the Crone, shared stories of our experiences, and crowned our future wise selves.

The next circle will honor the Moonsong of the Maiden in Spring as we explore and honor the portal into a first menstrual cycle with stories, ritual, and good company. All ages are welcome!

Specific dates are in our event calendar; they are organized around the full moon on a First Friday for each season.

Cards: these beautiful cards are part of a deck created by Jane Hardwick Collings--a shamanic teacher of the feminine life seasons.

01/02/2026

The altar is set for tonight's Seasons of the Sage circle. For winter, we honor the portal of the Crone. All ages are welcome! We'll have conversation, good company, and rites of passage for those entering the fourth season of life.

Whew!! What an amazing group for our annual Ring in the New Year! event!

My heart is both full and sad: full to have a space that can create paths for growth and connection; sad that the space wasn't quite big enough to fit everyone who came today.

Next year we'll have "reserved seating" lol!!

If you did select a word, please share a photo with your rock and oracle card!! I'd love to see how 2026 will be shaped by our intentions 💜

All set up for our annual Ring in the New Year celebration! Sound bath, intention setting, and word of the year selected and literally written in stone.

The stones thus Year were gathered on Summer Solstice from Whiskey Point on Beaver Island. I'm sure there is an indigenous name for this sacred space that has an ancient cedar grove of Grandmothers and the stones are from the glaciers scraping bedrock--the deepest grooves of their movement during the Ice Age.

We're digging deep thus year, honoring the ancestors, and creating a new story. One word, one step, one journey at a time.

It is both a privilege and a pleasure to be able to hold this space and create a community that honors the sacred practice of yoga.

2025 has been a wonderful year! We held more in depth workshops and teacher trainings, added amazing massage and energy work with Wendy in the Goddess Healing room, welcomed babies to a new offering of Mommy & Me Yoga, enjoyed another year of Peace in the Park outdoor yoga, Sandy got to be on television, and our amazing Women's Weekend retreat capped off the year with sisterhood, sauna, and sage warriors all.

There were so many more moments and experiences that brought us together and created growth of body, mind, and spirit.

Thank you to ALL who make this place special and take our practice from the mat into the world. May peace prevail.
Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi
