Resident Assistant Opening
Gracious Grounds is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and community-minded individual
to join our team as a Resident Assistant at Gracious Grounds on Ohio Street. This unique
role supports adults with intellectual disabilities who are living independently in a
welcoming, inclusive environment.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Visible, available, and approachable to residents
- Passionate about building relationships based on trust and respect
- Committed to promoting independent living and fostering a strong sense of community
Position Highlights:
- Live-in role with a lodging credit covering a one-bedroom apartment and utilities
- Daily on-site presence beginning at 6:00 PM
- Overnight on-site coverage and weekend on-call duties
- One weekend off per month and two weeks of vacation annually

Today we had problems to solve which led us to different businesses around Washington Square. Once we gave the "code word" at the correct store, the businesses gave us an envelope with a puzzle piece. In the end we put the pieces together to find out we were going to Kenzie's Be Cafe for a small treat! Thanks to the Washington Square businesses! Today was the first day of Noorthoek Academy. Noorthoek Academy is a non-profit organization that provides an affordable college experience, offering continuing education in the arts and sciences for adults with learning challenges and other intellectual disabilities in partnership with Grand Rapids Community College. https://www.noorthoekacademy.org/
