RefuahHealth has expanded its successful Care4Her program to South Fallsburg, bringing compassionate OB/GYN care directly to the community.

“The launch of Care4Her in South Fallsburg isn’t just a new program—it’s a statement that every woman deserves access to comprehensive, compassionate care close to home,” said Sullivan County Legislator Terry Bernardo, who joined Refuah leaders for the ribbon cutting. “RefuahHealth continues to set the gold standard for what community healthcare should look like—personal, responsive, and rooted in dignity.”

“RefuahHealth continues to be a valued partner in ensuring access to care for the families of Fallsburg. The Care4Her program reflects our shared commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and improving quality of life for women in our town,” added Fallsburg Town Supervisor Mike Bensimon.

Care4Her was first introduced at Refuah’s Rockland County location, offering urgent walk-in OB/GYN services without the need for an appointment. The South Fallsburg launch builds on that success, furthering Refuah’s commitment to innovative care solutions for underserved populations.

RefuahHealth has served the Lower Hudson Valley for nearly 30 years, including operating in Sullivan County since 2011, and provides care to over 86,000 patients annually.

RefuahHealth is thrilled to announce the welcoming of Monsey Pediatrics to our network!

Starting today, July 7, Monsey Pediatrics temporary location will be at RefuahHealth’s Hillcrest office at 205 Airport Executive Park, Nanuet, NY.

“This move will allow me to focus even more on what I love most, caring for children, while gaining the support of a larger medical family that shares my values of warmth, compassion, and excellence in care” said Dr. Seif.

Monsey Pediatrics Patients will now have access to our full range of services, including pediatric specialties in cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, and rheumatology.

Transportation assistance is available for families who need it. We can’t wait to serve the Monsey Pediatrics community and provide comprehensive, compassionate care.

During summer, kids can get bites from mosquitoes, flies, fleas, ticks, wasps, and bees. Most bites cause mild reactions, but allergic children may have severe symptoms.

Symptoms:
* Mild swelling and pain for most.
* Allergic reactions can cause difficulty breathing, swelling around eyes/lips, or hives.

Treatment:
* Use cool compresses or calamine lotion for itchiness.
* For bee stings, remove the stinger quickly to limit venom spread; avoid pinching it with tweezers.

Preventive Measures:
* Dress in long sleeves and avoid bright clothing.
* Stay away from insect hotspots like garbage and flowers.

Repellents:
* Use insect repellents with up to 30% DEET for children over 2 months. Picaridin is a good alternative.

When to Seek Medical Help:
* Call a doctor if infection signs appear or if your child has a severe reaction.

When Choosing a Bicycle Helmet, ask yourself these three questions:

Is it legit? There are many bike helmets on the market, but only some comply with federal safety standards. Look for the label that shows the helmet meets the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission bicycle standard for safety. When properly used, helmets meeting this standard can protect against skull fractures and severe brain injuries.

Does it fit? A poorly fitting helmet will not protect your skull in a crash. A bike helmet that fits right should be comfortable, sit level on your head, provide adequate head coverage without blocking your vision, and be snug so that it cannot fall off when fastened.

What type is it? There are helmets for many different activities, and they are made to protect your head from the kind of impact associated with a particular activity or sport. If you are choosing a helmet for riding a bike, be sure the helmet is a bike helmet. Always choose the right helmet for the right activity. If you see a cyclist, slow down! Bicyclists are most often killed by drivers who strike them with the front of their vehicle at high speeds.

Avoid tragedy:

🚘 Slow down.

🚘 Drive sober.

🚘 Don’t drive distracted.

Make room! When you pass a bicycle, give them three or more feet of space. Be sure to check your state’s specific laws.

Big news from South Fallsburg!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Sean Wall-Carty Town Councilman, Town of Fallsburg and his incredible team, RefuahHealth is proud to be among the recipients of the Restore New York Communities Initiative award.

This critical funding will allow us to demolish and abate a long-abandoned school building in the heart of South Fallsburg—clearing the way for a state-of-the-art healthcare facility that will expand access to vital services in rural Sullivan County.

We’re deeply grateful to the Town of South Fallsburg for their partnership, especially Councilman Wall-Carty and Town Supervisor Bensimon, whose support helped move this project forward.

Safety in numbers! 🚲 🚲 🚲 🚲 Studies show that drivers are MORE careful when they see more cyclists on the road. If you can, ride in a group.

· Protect your noggin! When riding a bicycle, always wear a helmet. Make sure it fits – get info from NHTSA.gov/bicycles.

· Just like a seat belt protects you in a vehicle, a helmet protects you while bicycling. Don’t skip that lifesaving piece of equipment – always wear a helmet.

· Be seen! Reflectors and lights on your bike, and wearing retroreflective and bright clothing, help drivers see you better.
