Today's car tip....Wash your windows. Yep, washing your windows today can save you BIG in the future. Hey guys! It's gotten a little warm here in Vegas (120+degrees) and that means you need to take extra care of YOU! Drink plenty of water, keep cool, know the signs of heat related illnesses! The same goes for your vehicle. Let us not forget about that quintessential tool that you depend upon every day. Heat can be just as detrimental to your vehicle's health as it is to your health! Know the signs your vehicle will display when it's suffering from the heat. Make sure your coolant is topped off (ONLY WHEN YOUR CAR IS COOL!) A/C system is charged CORRECTLY. A system that is not charged, or incorrectly charged with Freon can cause your A/C compressor to work unnecessarily hard, possibly leading to a VERY costly repair. And something most of us overlook in this heat...Our windows and the expensive mechanical equipment associated with them. One thing we can do to help is to wash our windows, inside and outside. The accumulation of vehicle exhaust, dirt, dust, grime and the oil from our own hands on the windows, especially in this excessive heat can make that oily grime EXTREMELY sticky. That sticky gunk makes our windows stick to the molding trim guiding them up and down and can cause your window motors to be overworked and possibly fail! So let's wash those windows and fill the fluid and make sure our A/C is properly charged! Doing a little preventative maintenance now can save you big $$$$$$$$ in the future!!!
