I’ve often been asked why can’t I pick my face but you can?

Picture 1 shows my extractions, Picture 2 shows my clients own extractions.

Professionally done extractions are done meticulously and strategically. They are done in a clean sterile environment, prepped skin and with gloves, we are able to examine the skin from a top angle making the most educated decision on if an extraction is necessary.

Contrary to popular belief, not every bump and blemish needs to be and most importantly is ready to be extracted. We are also able to care for your extractions post extraction as well, to help reduce inflammation, PIH (discoloration) and scaring.

Lives have been lost, loved ones remain missing and entire communities face immense challenges. My heart goes out to everyone affected by these devastating floods, including one of our very own clients who’s suffered such a heartbreaking loss.

It has taken me days to come up with the right words only to realize there aren’t any. All I know is at times like these it is important to remain strong for our friends and neighbors and be the support they need during this difficult time.

In the spirit of compassion and community Refine Skin Spa will be donating 15% off all facials this week to the Kerr County Relief Fund.

Sunscreen 101:

What is broad spectrum sunscreen….?

The term for a sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays is known as ‘broad-spectrum’ protection.

What does broad spectrum sunscreen do…?

Regular sunscreens, those without a broad spectrum claim, protect against UVB radiation, the main cause of sunburn and a significant factor in skin cancer. Broad spectrum sunscreens, however, provide a defense against both UVB and UVA rays and further protect against skin cancer.

How do I know my sunscreen is broad spectrum?

In the United States, only sunscreens and cosmetics labeled as Broad Spectrum provide protection from both damaging forms of radiation.
