We are honored to introduce the Medical Director of St. Gabriel’s Hospice, Dr. Amanbir Sohal.

Dr. Sohal is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine who is proud to serve the very community where he was raised. A product of Klein ISD, he learned early on the value of perseverance, compassion, and caring for neighbors, principles that continue to guide his work today.

After completing his residency and fellowship at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Dr. Sohal returned home to Northwest Houston with a mission: to help his community breathe easier and live healthier lives. In 2025, he co-founded Premier Lung and Sleep Institute and currently serves as CEO, in addition to leading pulmonary rehabilitation programs at HCA Healthcare Tomball.

Beyond his impressive clinical expertise in complex lung disease, Dr. Sohal has spent the past several years walking alongside patients and families in hospice care, an experience he values deeply. He believes there is profound honor in guiding families through the end-of-life journey, ensuring comfort, dignity, and compassionate support during life’s most sacred moments.

Fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, Dr. Sohal connects meaningfully with patients from diverse backgrounds. He takes the time to listen, educate, and partner with families in every stage of care.

When he’s not caring for patients, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and two young sons, on the basketball court, or cheering from the sidelines.

We are incredibly grateful to have Dr. Sohal’s expertise, heart, and leadership at St. Gabriel’s Hospice as we serve families across North Houston. 💜

🎰Making Moments Matter🎰

When our sweet patient received a terminal cancer diagnosis, she already had something special planned, a birthday trip to the casino with her family the very next day. Despite pain and loss of mobility, she was determined to go.

Our Administrator and Director of Patient Care knew this moment mattered. They got up early, helped her into her family’s car, and followed them more than an hour away so she could safely enjoy her day, surrounded by the people she loves.

Having our them there gave her and her family peace of mind, freedom, and the chance to simply be together. In her words, it was “the best birthday ever.

It was truly an honor to be part of such a meaningful day and to help turn a wish into a beautiful memory. This is why we do what we do , because hospice is about living fully, every moment that matters.
