🇺🇸UPDATES from your crazy therapist 🇺🇸

The craziness that is my life, has come full speed the last month and I just wanted to update everyone all at once! I am still working full time and promise to get everyone in as quickly as possible 🙏 I have not had to cut hours as yet, however, we are back to waitlist on in office appointments as of today. I am so so sorry! Please still continue to reach out and we can keep you updated on the waitlist, still a few open spots on Zoom.

As of a month ago, I am now a Doctoral student at Tiffin University, which will require me to travel and be out of office more than I usually am at times. I am making strong attempts to handle this as gracefully as possible, as well as causing minimal disruption to you. Pursuing this degree will help me widen my services and continue to stay in the good fight with you. Because of this, I will no longer be taking court ordered or court involved cases until September 2027. I am finishing the ones I am currently involved in, and will continue to serve you to the best of my abilities, as always. This decision did not come lightly as I know the struggles that are faced with finding therapists to go to court, but the last minute subpoenas demanding me to be out of office for multiple days is becoming disrespectful to my personal schedule and my schedule with other clients. If you have a question or concern on this, please reach out. I will also be limiting speaking engagements throughout the year to limit time I'm away from clients. 🙃

I am full blown in the new building and back to business as regularly scheduled. This is the updates for now, I know there are times that it's hard to get in touch with me, please just be patient with me, I am doing my best to address each and every one of you as quickly I humanly possibly can. I just have more people now demanding my attention and we're all this together!

My appreciation and gratitude for your continued support is unwavering and I can't express what it means to be that you instill your trust in me as your therapist. Please be patient with me as I stand strong with you. If there are any concerns at any time, please feel free to reach out! Thank you guys so much for your continued support and I look forward to continuing our work together!

Alisa🇺🇸

As first responders, our strength is often measured by how much we can carry, or how much we can handle… but the truth is: everyone knows someone who is struggling.

Mental health challenges do not discriminate. Behind the badge or the uniform is a human deserving of support. We need to work harder to break the silence and watch out for each other— because these statistics are astonishing and painful.

We’re available, whether it’s Sunday morning, Tuesday at 3am, or a long holiday weekend. 24/7.

Reach out. Tell your friends. End the stigma.

🚨THE SECOND TIME HAS COME🚨

I wish this was going to be what my view looks like for the next week but unfortunately, I won't be able to see any view! I am finally and officially out of office for the second eye surgery! I will not be able to look at any electronics for approximately the next 4-5 days, which means if you are emailing or texting, I will not be able to read the messages. I will get back to each of you should you need anything upon my return to office. I will return to regular schedule Monday, June 16. All emergency contact information should you need anything will be outlined in the auto response of my email. Please of course leave me messages with anything non-urgent and I will get back with you as I am able! 😀

I appreciate everyone's patience with me through this process and look forward to seeing (with hopefully TWO healthy eyes 😉) you upon my return!

GOOD MORNING & HAPPY MONDAY! 😎

So glad to finally be back on full regular schedule this week! Surgery went as planned but took a couple extra days to heal. Blurriness is still a big struggle but we are slowly but surely getting there. I believe I have caught back up with messages and calls, but if I have missed your message, please send me another text/call/email! Looking at my phone specifically has been a challenge so please reach back out if I’ve missed you! Happy Cinco de Mayo! 🥳

🩺REMINDER & HEADS UP🩹

I am finally scheduled for and having my first procedure for my eye on April 18. Because there is no accurate way to determine when I will regain vision, this is a friendly heads up that if you need anything from me, please reach out no later than April 16, 2025. Anything past this date will probably be postponed until the following week, at the earliest. All appointments will remain as they are scheduled now, but please feel free to reach out if we need to get you in before this! I anticipate my absence being 4/18/25-4/24/25, but will keep this updated as we go along!

I appreciate all of your support, patience and attention in this matter and look forward to continuing to serve you! 🩵

Please share if you can't donate, any support is immensely appreciated during this difficult time 💙

As you may not know, 300 Jefferson County employees have not been receiving their paychecks due to the county budgets not being approved. Many of these workers are essential employees, and are still coming to work to keep their county safe. In partnership with Pulaski County, Arkansas Sheriff’s Office, area churches, and others, we asked that you join us in this call to action. Any items can be dropped off during the event. Any monetary donation can be made in person, by scanning the QR code, or by visiting www.heroesbehindtheline.org and clicking donate. All donations made until Wednesday January 29th, will go to assist those affected.

The start of the season for 2025! ❄️

Just a reminder on my inclement weather policy! 🙂 I closely follow the Springdale School District to make a decision regarding closing the office, however, there are times I will follow Gentry School District due to where I live. If neither are closed, I will be in the office. Otherwise, we will use Zoom as needed, if you are comfortable with that, and get you back in the office as quick as possible! I try not to make quick judgement but ultimately my biggest goal is keeping you all as safe as possible!

Please feel free to email me directly or text/call my office with any questions! I always hope to keep you all on our regular schedule, but as always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything at all I can do to help! 🙂

In the past 2 days, we’ve said “Until Valhalla” to two officers whose lives mattered. Deputy Alexis Patterson and Officer Tanner Peck, your loss is felt among a family that runs through the State of Arkansas.

If you or any officer or first responder that you know is struggling, please do not hesitate to reach out. My team is always on standby and we are ready and waiting to walk you through what may be some of the darkest days of your life. We will never leave you. We will never shame you. We will welcome you with open arms, begging you to let us help. Please don’t ever assume nobody cares, nobody will listen, nobody will be there. We are here. We will listen. We will meet you exactly where you are and walk through the mud with you.

You are important. You matter. You are cared about beyond belief.

Please reach out to Heroes Behind the Line or text me directly at 479-259-1090 any time, day or night💙

About Me

Gemma Troy once said, "If I can survive the war that I battle with myself, I can survive anything." I truly believe that everyone can benefit from therapeutic intervention as a resource for adjusting to life's unexpected changes and personal growth. I have a passion for bringing healing to individuals who have experienced trauma or are currently facing daily struggles that seem impossible to overcome. I strive to help my clients find healthy perceptions of themselves and know that no single approach is the right one for every individual. Together we can find what works best for you.

I hold a Masters in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University, a Bachelors in Criminal Justice from UALR and an Associates in Law Enforcement. I have experience working with individuals who are facing legal issues, battling addiction, adolescents and individuals struggling with anxiety and depression. As a former law enforcement officer myself, I also have a very strong passion for working with our first responders.

I have also completed my Certified S*x Offender Treatment Provider training and certification. As a part of Chenal Family Therapy PLC, I work with a team of therapists and psychiatrists who specialize in different presenting issues, allowing me to provide seamless referrals within the same practice if you require medication, testing or other specialties.
