✨April is Cesarean Awareness Month✨

✨C-section birth is birth. Celebrating all the mamas who birthed their baby via c-section. It is NOT the easy way out.

✨Holding space for the moms who are still processing their birth story, to the ones who are still learning their scar, grieving their body before birth, and the ones who showed up through it all.

✨Empowering moms with knowledge for preparing for c-section and recovering postpartum is needed and should be standard. Postpartum recovery should be standard. More work needs to be done serving moms during this time. If you are a c-section mom, I hope you know your birth experience is valid, special, and yours 💗

The 5-5-5 Rule for Postpartum Recovery is a recovery plan that places priority on rest with a gradual return to daily activities.

⭐️Days 0-5: Staying in the bed as much as possible.

⭐️Days 5-10: Staying on the bed with a gradual increase in movement, sitting up, and gentle stretching/movement with guidance from a pelvic floor therapist.

⭐️Days 10-15: Staying near the bed. This time begins a more gentle reintegration into light tasks and activities. It is okay to continue to ask for more help and avoid strenuous activities.

Feeling like this sounds unrealistic? I hear you. We live in a go-go-go and hustle society. Little attention is placed on moms and postpartum recovery in this country and it can be hard to achieve.

I have asked and polled moms before on what factors might be limiting them from getting the rest they need postpartum and most answers surround around a lack of consistent support at home, caring for older children, work, NICU stays, etc. Planning and having this guidance can hopefully help you a little bit more. Save this for your own postpartum journey and if it’s not for you, think about how you could help a mom you know achieve this in her journey. 💗

One of my favorite things to do is get out in the community and provide education! This past weekend I partnered with Alli at to host a Mini Pelvic Floor Birth Prep workshop.

It was so fun meeting these mamas to be and educating them! Thanks to Alli for hosting. If you haven’t already, go support and check out her new small business maternity store. She has the cutest maternity clothes, nursing bras, and holistic prenatal/postpartum care items.

We have plans to do more in the future but would love to continue partnering and offering more workshops that serve you! If there’s something you’d like to see, let us know in comments or DM.

I hope 2025 brings you peace, joy, and love.

Lots of things happened this year and I’m forever grateful to the people who supported me, the women we were able to walk alongside and serve, the providers who we were able to meet and work with, and everything in between. From opening a holistic collaborative space of like-minded practitioners and small business owners serving women to entering my minivan era, it’s been an amazing year💗

I was able to return to my Alma Mater today at the UAMS DPT program to teach a great group of students all about the Pelvic Floor Therapist’s Role in Preparing for Birth.

This topic is near and dear to my heart as I have seen the profound impact it can have on outcomes. I love providing women and their families with education, evidence, and support to feel empowered going into their birth!

Honoring the men and women who have served, including our very own Dr. Jackie 🇺🇸💪. Jackie served just under 7 years of service as a military PT. During this time, Dr. Jackie dedicated her time to supporting active-duty soldiers, their families, and military retirees. She played a huge part in the pregnancy and postpartum program for providing services for pregnant soldiers, as well as providing care at the after-hours sports clinic. She was inspired by her sister, who motivated her to serve.❤️🤍💙
