NOWDiagnostics is excited to invite everyone to visit us at this year's NMAC Biomedical HIV Prevention Summit (BHPS)!

This will be the 10th anniversary of the BHPS, and we couldn't be more proud to be part of this revolutionary approach to HIV education and prevention.

This year’s theme, “The Syndemic Approach—Strengthening the HIV and Public Health Workforce” centers the clinical, community, and broader public health workforce as key partners in the effort to improve overall health among HIV affected communities and communities with the poorest health outcomes.

What is a syndemic? Simply put: Synergy + Epidemic = Syndemic.

Using systems thinking, syndemic and whole-person theory, and organizational development and management strategies, the Summit will serve as a training and recruitment hub that strengthens the technical and leadership skills of the clinical, community, and public health workforce, as well as a pipeline to recruit new public and global health professionals.

In addition to the syndemic approach, there will also be heavy focus on Implementation Science.

What is implementation science?
A public health research term, “implementation science” is the scientific study of methods and strategies that facilitate the uptake of evidence-based practice and research into regular use by practitioners and policymakers.

By providing an in-depth exploration of these efforts and challenges, the Summit aims to prepare its audience for ongoing and future work needed to end the HIV epidemic.

Ultimately, the goal is for all of us to work together as a community, scientifically, strategically, and holistically, to help eradicate HIV.

We'll be in Booth #312, in the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile.

Hello everyone,

We’re pleased to announce that Dr. Hazim Aljewari has been promoted to Director of R&D, Molecular Biology.

Since joining NOWDiagnostics®, Hazim has made immediate and meaningful contributions to our lab operations and molecular diagnostics program.

Before NOWDx, Hazim spent several years at the University of Arkansas, where his work focused on molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, and bioprocessing engineering. His strong translational research background allowed him to transition quickly into NOWDx and take on an early leadership role in molecular assay development.

Hazim brings over a decade of research experience, with three patents and more than 50 peer-reviewed publications. He also has a broad international background, including research at Khon Kaen University in Thailand and an academic career in Iraq as an Assistant Professor at the University of Baghdad, where he also founded an international lab supply company.

At NOWDx, Hazim has already played a key role in advancing proprietary molecular assays and solving polymerase inactivity in saliva—work now being captured as a provisional patent. His team’s dedication was clear when they worked through the Thanksgiving weekend to resolve critical reagent issues.

The molecular program is central to NOWDx’s value, and Hazim’s leadership continues to strengthen it. He is a natural teacher and collaborator who brings great energy to the team. In his new role, Hazim will lead the day-to-day activities of the molecular group and report directly to Dr. Jody Berry, Chief Scientific Officer.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Hazim Aljewari on his well-deserved promotion.
