šŸ’š May is Maternal Mental Health Month šŸ’š

Caring for a child with special needs is a journey of love, strength—and often, overwhelming stress.

šŸ“Š Nearly 60% of mothers of children with special needs report symptoms of depression or anxiety.
Yet, over half struggle to access mental health care due to time, cost, or lack of specialized support.

These moms often put their own well-being last while navigating therapies, appointments, advocacy, and caregiving around the clock. Their resilience is incredible—but they deserve support, too.

🧠 Mental health care is not optional. It's essential.

šŸ’¬ This month, let’s raise our voices for better access, more resources, and compassionate care for these incredible mothers.

Foster mothers hold a special kind of strength—and face unique emotional challenges.

šŸ“Š Nearly 50% of foster parents report feeling high levels of stress, anxiety, and emotional burnout due to the complexities of caregiving, attachment, and loss.

Foster parenting is an act of love, but it often comes with grief, uncertainty, and the weight of trauma—not just the child’s, but the caregiver’s too.

This month, let’s recognize the emotional toll foster parenting can take, and the importance of mental health support for all types of moms.

šŸ’¬ If you know a foster mom, check in.
šŸ’š If you are one, please know—it’s okay to need help too.

🌸 May is Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month 🌸

Motherhood is beautiful—but it’s also hard.

Sleepless nights, endless responsibilities, identity shifts, and the constant pressure to ā€œdo it allā€ can take a real toll. Whether you're a new mom, a working mom, a stay-at-home mom, or anything in between—your mental health matters.

✨ Here are a few ways to support mom’s mental well-being: šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø Prioritize rest and self-care—even in small ways
šŸ’¬ Talk openly about how you’re feeling—no shame, no guilt
šŸ¤ Ask for help—and accept it
🩺 Reach out to a therapist or support group if you're feeling overwhelmed

You can love your children and still need space, support, and care for yourself. That’s not weakness—that’s wisdom.

Let’s break the silence and normalize caring for moms’ mental health—not just this month, but always. Text 479-510-2100 or email connect@optimizenwa.com for your free 15-minute consultation. šŸ’™

šŸ’™ **May is Maternal Mental Health Month** šŸ’™

Grieving mothers are often the silent warriors among us.

šŸ•Šļø **1 in 4 women** will experience pregnancy or infant loss in their lifetime.
This heartbreak leaves a lasting emotional impact, yet many suffer in silence.

Loss doesn't end with the moment—it lingers in birthdays missed, milestones never reached, and the quiet ache only a grieving parent understands. This month, let’s acknowledge their pain, honor their strength, and advocate for **compassionate mental health care**.

To every mother carrying invisible grief:
**You are seen. You are loved. Your story matters.**

Struggle with feeling "lazy"? Maybe you're body is communicating to you...

Let's chat...you don't have to keep feeling this way. Text 479-510-2100 to schedule your free consultation.

Enough is enough! When your body has had enough - it will tell you. I used to think my fatigue was laziness. But really, it was my body saying, ā€œNo More.ā€ Are you listening to the messages?

Irritability, overwhelm, fatigue, stomach bloating, zoning out during conversations. All those are ways your body is telling you that you've hit 'enough.'

In my book, The Biology Of Trauma, I talk about the everyday manifestations of stored trauma in the body - depletion.

You see, when your body starts to give messages of depletion and you continue to push that subtle feeling aside - your body will start to speak louder.

If, like me, you start using more stimulants like coffee, sugar and energy drinks to push through, or maybe you increase adrenaline by creating deadlines or drama in your life - eventually your body too will say, ā€œWe can’t do this anymore.ā€

Is your body speaking to you yet? Have you been pushing through?

Or maybe has already told you, enough is enough?
