Allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Aneva Jefferson, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a trained full-spectrum doula. I took part in a trauma-informed, person-centered training with Birthing Advocacy Doulas in September 2021; I learned about reproductive justice and the importance of empowering marginalized birthing people to advocate for themselves in the birthing space. Before moving back to my hometown of Springfield, MO, I worked with an all Black birth and wellness collective as a community doula for low-income Black families in Nashville, TN. I am ALWAYS furthering my education and practice - most recently, I participated in a training by Postpartum Support International in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
As a Black + Q***r Woman, I aim to be a reproductive justice advocate for ALL birthing folks and families in the Southwest Missouri area. There is no better feeling than watching your client say NO, tell their providers to ask for consent, or remind their providers to affirm their identities.
I can’t wait to be your advocate in the birth space and beyond!🌙✨
