Carley Mattimore, one of Heartland Healing Arts Center's practitioners, was one of the ten nominees for the Athena Award by the Illinois Women in Leadership. The Athena Award recognizes women who have excelled in their profession, contributed to their community, and who lift and support other women (and men) in their leadership development. ATHENA nominee Carley Mattimore, MS, LCPC, is a shamanic psychotherapist with 30 years’ experience as well as a therapeutic energy worker. She exemplifies excellence, creativity, and initiative through her multifaceted career in psychotherapy, spiritual leadership, and authorship. As the owner of her own practice in Springfield, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals on their healing journeys. Her leadership extends beyond her practice as the co-owner of Aahara Spiritual Community, a 501(c)(3) congregation of the Venus Rising Association for Transformation, where she fosters a space for deep personal and collective transformation. Carley is a speaker, support group leader, mentor, Reiki Master, and educator. She has shared her wisdom on many podcasts including My Inner Knowing Podcast with Theresa Hubbard among others. Carley has also authored the publication Sacred Messengers of Shamanic Africa and co-authored/contributed to several other publications. Carley’s nominator says, “Through her long-standing commitment to personal and collective transformation, Carley continues to improve the well-being of her community through education, healing, and leadership development, working alongside others to create meaningful, lasting change.”
