What an amazing turnout we had for the Trunk or Treat! Thank you all for participating and making it such a success! We loved seeing parents with newborns coming to learn about all the awesome programs available in our area, toddlers in adorable costumes, and eager kiddos who simply were there for the candy. It was all magical.

Our hope is that families walked away with a resource or two that can help support them in parenthood.

🎃Our Community Birth Center's Trunk or Treat is today! We're so excited to see you there. Here are some things to know:

• Construction is still happening on Mill Street and B Street is blocked. The easiest way to get to the birth center is by heading West on A Street, then snaking through the Island Park Business Complex to get to Building O off B Street. Look for the Trunk or Treat signs!

• "Thriller" dance class starts at 6 pm

• STI testing will be offered in the birth center from 6 pm to 7 pm

• This is a free community event, and all are welcome!

Join us in thanking Leisha Miller of Inner Clarity Therapy for sponsoring tomorrow's Childbirth Prep Course!

Leisha has been a mental health counselor for over 11 years, helping young people and adults. She is EMDR certified and comfortable supporting people who have complex trauma. Her areas of specialty include grief and loss, perinatal related traumas, such as miscarriages and birth traumas, first responder support and helping people change intergenerational trauma patterns.

Leisha uses EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) approaches to support clients.

Meet Sasha!

Sasha (she/her/hers) is a Certified Nurse Midwife who will be providing care at Our Community Birth Center this fall/winter. She is a graduate of California State University, Chico where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and University of California, San Francisco where she completed a dual Master’s program becoming both a nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner.

She has 13 years experience caring for families, both in hospital and home birth settings. Sasha loves to integrate levity, joy, and personal connection into her care for clients and their families.

Our Trunk or Treat is just one week away! The birth center parking lot will be full of spots for your littles to trick or treat at, as well as some crafts and activities for them to engage with.

We're "thrilled" to announce that Roshy from Nurturely will be teaching a special Babywearing y Bailando: Thriller Edition! 💀
This Halloween season, Roshny is bringing the spooky fun with a baby and kid friendly dance class featuring the iconic “Thriller” choreography! Class starts at 6 pm!

In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn about local resources for families, including: Our Community Birth Center, Parenting Now, Relief Nursery, Team Duckling: UO Psychology, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Nurturely, TransPonder, Lane County Health & Human Services, Jen Nelson-Doula, Awesome Possum Pediatrics, Inner Clarity Therapy, and Every Kid Pediatric Dentistry.

This event is free and open to all community members!

At Our Community Birth Center, we use a hanging sling scale to get an accurate reading on a baby's weight. We are looking for generous community members to purchase scales for the birth center so we can loan them out to birth center families who could benefit from weighing their babies in between appointments.

We are so excited to invite the community to our 2nd annual Resource Sharing Trunk or Treat on October 28, 2025 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the Our Community Birth Center parking lot.

Meet with local organizations and businesses that serve and support families. We will have snacks and games for little ones, organizations like Parenting Now and Relief Nursery passing out goodies to kiddos, and more!
