As the holiday season gets busy, it’s the little moments of care — a calm response, a gentle word, a helping hand — that make the biggest difference. Kindness costs nothing, but it can change the whole feel of a home, a relationship, or a child’s day. Let’s be the light for one another. 💛

🎄 Navigating the Holidays With Big Emotions 🎄

The holidays are magical—but they can also be overwhelming for kids. New routines, loud gatherings, sugar, excitement, and sensory overload can lead to big feelings fast. Here are a few simple ways to support your child this season:

💛 Keep routines where you can
✨ Prepare kids for what to expect
🧸 Build in quiet breaks
🍪 Balance treats with real meals
🗣️ Help them name their feelings
🫶 Offer choices and extra patience

Holidays don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. A little structure and a lot of compassion go a long way.

🧡 MEP is cheering you on this season. 🧡

💙 It’s Giving Tuesday — and Your Support Changes Futures 💙

Today is about more than giving.
It’s about believing—in families who are fighting for stability, in parents working to break cycles, and in children who deserve safety, connection, and hope.

When you give to the Missouri Empowerment Project, you’re helping us provide:
✨ In-home support for families in crisis
✨ Mental health counseling for children and parents
✨ Substance use treatment and recovery support
✨ Safe, supervised visitation
✨ Parenting classes and life-skills programs
✨ Basic needs assistance that keeps families together

Your generosity fills the gaps that systems can’t.
It keeps lights on during a dark week.
It funds a therapist when insurance won’t.
It helps a parent show up to visitation.
It gives a child a chance to heal.

Every dollar is a step toward preventing child abuse and neglect, strengthening families, and creating brighter futures across southwest Missouri.

If you’re able, please consider supporting MEP this Giving Tuesday.
Because when families rise, communities rise with them.

💙 Donate. Share. Support. Believe. 💙

🧡 A Thanksgiving Tribute 🧡

This season, our gratitude feels a little like a tapestry, woven from many hands, many stories, many hearts.

To our donors, who give quietly and generously,
you are the steady thread that keeps hope stitched in place.
Your gifts become warm meals, safe visits, open doors, and second chances that might never have been possible without you.

To our partners, who show up beside us in the hard work, you are the hands that lift with us, the voices that say yes when families need the village at their back.
Together, we build bridges where there used to be barriers.

And to our clients, whose courage fills the room even on the toughest days- you are the heart of this tapestry.
You show us what resilience looks like,
what transformation sounds like,
what it means to keep trying, even when the world feels heavy.
Your steps forward-big or small-are victories we celebrate with you.

This Thanksgiving, we honor every thread of this community,
every person who chooses compassion,
every story that reminds us why this work matters.

Thank you for walking alongside us.
Thank you for believing in families.
Thank you for being part of our mission.

🧡 With gratitude, Missouri Empowerment Project 🧡
