Happy Mother’s Day from the Missouri Empowerment Project! 💐

Today we celebrate the strength, love, sacrifice, and resilience of mothers and caregivers in all forms. From biological mothers to foster moms, adoptive moms, grandmothers, stepmoms, and the many women who step into caregiving roles every day — your impact matters.

We also recognize the mothers working tirelessly to create better lives for their children, often while navigating challenges, hardships, and uncertainty with incredible courage and determination.

At MEP, we have the privilege of witnessing the love parents have for their children every single day. Families are not defined by perfection, but by persistence, growth, and the willingness to keep showing up.

To all the moms and caregivers in our community: thank you for the countless ways you nurture, support, advocatefor, and love those around you. We see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you today. ❤️

Today we are celebrating a huge accomplishment for Sandra! 🎓✨

Please join us in congratulating Sandra on graduating with her Master’s in Social Work! We are incredibly proud of not only this achievement, but the growth, dedication, and heart she has shown throughout her journey with MEP.

Over the last year, we have watched Sandra grow both personally and professionally into a compassionate advocate, thoughtful leader, and skilled social worker who consistently shows up for families with empathy and determination. Her commitment to learning, growing, and serving others has been evident every step of the way, and this milestone is so well deserved.

Sandra, your hard work, resilience, and passion for helping others continue to make a difference within our agency and throughout the community. We cannot wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish in this next chapter.

Congratulations, Sandra! We are so proud of you! 💙

We are incredibly grateful to receive support from the Coover Foundation to help fund our Intensive Family Services (IFS) program!

At a time when funding cuts are impacting service delivery across our community, this investment comes when families need it most. Because of this support, we will be able to reach more families, provide critical in-home services, and continue our mission of preventing child abuse and neglect while keeping families safely together.

IFS allows us to meet families where they are—offering hands-on support, connection to resources, and guidance during some of life’s most challenging moments. This funding ensures that more parents and children have access to the tools and support they need to build stronger, healthier futures.

Thank you to the Coover Foundation and Community Foundation of the Ozarks for believing in this work and for investing in the strength and resilience of families in our community. 💙

Very grateful for the work our Intensive Family Services provides for rural families to be recognized!

Today we’re celebrating a big accomplishment! 🎓

Congratulations to Nancy and Joseph on graduating from Elevate Work. Your dedication, consistency, accountability, and commitment to growth is something to be incredibly proud of. You are setting a powerful example for your children through your actions, and that impact will last far beyond this moment.

Shelby and Brittany had the opportunity to attend their graduation last night as their RPG workers and celebrate alongside them, which is a meaningful part of what RPG services provide. Having consistent support means not only working through challenges, but also having someone there to show up for the wins, too.

Local programs like Elevate play such an important role in creating opportunities for growth, and we are thankful to be part of a community that has agencies like this dedicated to supporting individuals. RPG services continue that support by walking alongside families as they apply what they’ve learned and build long-term stability.

We are so proud of you both and honored to be part of your journey. 💛

Buon Compleanno, V! 🇮🇹🎉✨

Today we’re celebrating YOU — all the way to Italy! 🍝🍷 And what better place to celebrate 3 incredible years with MEP than surrounded by beauty, adventure, and a little extra sparkle ✨

Versaviya, you are such a steady and compassionate leader. The way you support your staff with empathy and understanding creates a culture where people feel truly valued. You work tirelessly behind the scenes, always thinking creatively about how to strengthen your program and support the agency — and it does not go unnoticed. 💛

You bring both heart and innovation to everything you do, and we are so lucky to have you on our team. Enjoy every moment of your Italian birthday celebration — you deserve all the joy, relaxation, and maybe a little gelato too! 🍦

Spring is here 🌸☀️ — and it’s the perfect time to slow down, get outside, and make simple memories together.

🌼 Go on a nature walk and look for signs of spring (flowers, birds, bugs!)
🧺 Pack a picnic and head to a local park
🌱 Plant flowers or a small garden together
🚲 Take a family bike ride or evening walk
🎨 Draw with sidewalk chalk or do a simple outdoor craft
🫧 Blow bubbles and let kids just run and play

These small moments build connection, confidence, and joy—and they’re often the ones kids remember most.

Spring is a reminder that growth takes time… for kids and for families 💙

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month 💙

Every child deserves safety, stability, and care—and every family deserves support along the way.

In the United States, over 532,000 children were confirmed victims of abuse and neglect in 2024, and nearly 1,800 children died due to abuse-related causes.

We also know:
• More than 4.4 million reports of suspected abuse are made each year
• The majority of cases involve neglect, which is often connected to stress, limited resources, and lack of support (Mandated Reporter Training)

Behind every number is a child—and a family—navigating challenges.

Child abuse prevention is not about blame. It’s about connection, support, and making sure families have what they need to thrive.

Small actions can make a big difference:
💙 Offer support to families in your community
💙 Share resources and encouragement
💙 Help create spaces where people feel safe asking for help

When we come together with compassion, we can build stronger families and safer communities for children.
