Our Kansas team wanted to share some pictures from our dementia clinic that we held yesterday at The Crestone Senior Living for their staff. We had an amazing turnout from our team.

Layla and Sarah facilitated the clinic for the first time and did a phenomenal job. They kept things lighthearted and fun while also emphasizing the importance of compassion and patience when we are working with individuals that struggle with the disease!

Cassie and Sydney were also there to help support and learn a little more about how the clinics run so they can feel confident in the future to lead them. I know they will be just as awesome.

I seriously learn at least 10 new things every time I participate in one of these!!! The staff that attended shared their thoughts and what they learned as we wrapped up and almost everyone talked about how they want to approach the care they provide with more thought and compassion.

We love partnering with Crestone, and this was such a fun way to build on our relationship with them.

HUGE thank you to our amazing Social Service team for all the education they provide and the intentionality and time that goes into everything they create and facilitate for us.

For National Employee Appreciation Day, our Missouri team’s Jaci brought a little fun to The Wellington by setting up a hydration and energy bar with hospice-themed drinks like the “Comfort Care Cooler” and “Night Shift Revival”. It was a simple way to celebrate the staff and show how much we appreciate everything they do for their residents. It ended up being a big hit and gave everyone a fun little break in their day!

Our MO team provided education and a bereavement service for Silverado Assisted Living in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Clinical Director, Christine Rutledge offered education about pain management and the myths of morphine as well as end of life symptoms and how hospice approaches them. We acknowledged the loss they’ve experienced the past several months with yellow roses. Our liaison brought yellow roses for the community staff to place together as those names were read. There was laughter as well as tears as they remembered and celebrated each resident. Chaplain Brent closed the ceremony with a compassionate message about grief and how it is a sign of the deep love we’ve invested and memories shared.
