5 Lessons I Wish I Has Learned Earlier In Life:
1. Everything ALWAYS works out: In all of my worry, frustration and fear throughout the years, I’ve learned that no amount will change a present moment from what is. And that its usually much worse in my head. Everything is an ebb and flow. So when things seem chaotic, know the peak is on the horizon.
2. Divine timing is real & always perfect: When you surrender to the Divine and TRUST that God, the Universe, Spirit has your back, everything always connects in the perfect moment. Lean in and allow God to do what only He can do.
3. Trust & love yourself, above all else: This may seem counterintuitive or cliché, but if you can’t trust and love yourself, who can you? Spend some time with you, and only you. Get to know yourself. Find YOUR identity. Become self aware and honest with yourself. Then embrace your uniqueness.
4. Time is finite. Don’t wait! The hard truth is, none of us know how much time we have here. So build a life worth living. Pursue meaning. Don’t wait to give your attention and energy to your loved ones. Quit the job you hate. Start a business. Take the class. Showcase your talents. Walk in nature. Whatever you want to do, do it now!
5. If you can help someone, do it: You truly never know how the kind act of a smile can impact someone’s life. If you’re in a position to do something to brighten someone’s day, lighten their load, or help them in any capacity, do it. As the saying goes, “at the end of the day, we’re all just walking each other home.”
BONUS: Don’t Sacrifice Your Happiness to Please Others!!
This is the one that took me the longest to learn. So if you’re young, listen up! It is not selfish to put yourself first. It’s selfish to put no one second. If you have a need or desire, speak up. If you don’t like how you’re being treated, vocalize it or leave. If you can’t be yourself without walking on eggshells, GET OUT! You are worthy of being yourself. You deserve to have a life lived in your authenticity. Don’t sacrifice who you are for anyone!!
