Say hello to Jessica — a rockstar flight nurse with 10 years of experience in the ED, Trauma, and ICU, and 2 years of taking her critical care skills to the skies.

When she’s not saving lives, Jessica is all about the outdoors — from fishing and swimming to softball and family cruises. She’s been married for 12 years and is a proud mom to two daughters (ages 12 & 😎, plus 3 dogs and a cat! 🐾💙

🚁 Employee Spotlight: Dalton Kearnes 🚒

Meet Dalton, a part-time flight paramedic with Lifestar 1 in Springfield, GA! This is his first role with Air Methods—and his first flight job—and he’s loving every minute of it. With 6 years of experience as a full-time firefighter/paramedic, Dalton brings dedication and heart to every shift.

Outside of work, Dalton enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors with his wife, their baby on the way (due in September!), their shih tzu Bugsy, and their cat Pumpkin. 🐾🌊

His favorite part of the job? “Getting to work with really smart people and constantly learning.”

Favorite memory so far? “My first flight—flying in a helicopter to help a patient and ground crew was such a surreal experience.”

💡 Dalton’s advice for future flight providers:
“Master the basics, study hard, and don’t be afraid to expand your knowledge beyond your current scope.”

This week, we celebrated 40 years of LifeStar and the incredible impact made possible through collaboration with our partners and community. 🤝

Just as the celebration was beginning, LifeStar was called to a mission—a fitting reminder that the work never stops.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—and a heartfelt thank you to the patients who shared their stories, from as far back as 1985, the very year LifeStar began, to 2020. Your strength and presence remind us why we do what we do.

Meet Tommy, a highly experienced and dedicated Flight Paramedic who has spent nearly two decades serving patients across Georgia and South Carolina with LifeStar.

“I had no desire to be a Flight Paramedic. The Chief Flight Medic at the time told me when my interview would be—and that I better be there! My wife, Deborah, was already flying for the company at the time.”

🚁 Employee Spotlight: Laurie Coombe, Flight Paramedic – Lifestar 1

Meet Laurie, a dedicated flight paramedic with 6 years of flight experience and 25 years in EMS! ✨

Before joining Lifestar 1, she flew with Lifenet 4 and Airlife 12, and spent 10 years at Medstar, where her love for paramedicine began. She also still serves her community as a paramedic part-time with Effingham County EMS. 💪
