Consistency is something we’ve been chewing on over here at Pivot.

Consistency means focusing on the task at hand in the present moment while maintaining a long term vision. To be consistent, you need to be able to show up everyday and take the small steps needed to make the big change you’re trying to create. And this takes a clear vision of what that creation is.

Why is consistency so powerful?

The more consistently you do something, the easier it becomes, and the more momentum you build up. Eventually, what was once a struggle becomes a habit, and habits are hard to break. That's why consistency is so important- it is the key to making lasting change.

What are you wanting to get consistent about? If someone asked you to name one thing you do in your life consistently, what would you name? Does that align with the dream you’re trying to create for yourself?

Don’t allow yourself to believe you can’t have everything you desire. Create small routines you can commit to everyday and watch how powerful those small steps are in the long term. 💪

Rest is and should be apart of any good fitness plan. A lot of people feel that rest days are pointless or stalls progress, but rest days are apart of the progress. In fact, these days are when the most progress happens!

Allowing yourself the rest days means your torn and tired muscles have time to heal, and that’s when they grow! So if you want true gains, you need to prioritize rest ⚖️💪

Hydration is important! Especially in these warmer months. ☀️

Proper hydration can aid in weight loss by making you feel fuller, suppress your appetite longer, boost your metabolism AND make your choice of exercise easier and more efficient.

Dehydration can cause you to not only hold onto water weight, but it can also slow down your metabolism, make you twice as hungry and make getting through you workout so much harder. 🥵

Proper hydration doesn’t just have to be chugging water (and shouldn’t be). Proper hydration is a combination of H2O and essential vitamins and minerals. You can get these vitamins and minerals through supplements like LiquidIV or gels, or by the food you choose to consume.

Start your day with a high protein meal!

Starting your day with adequate protein is crucial because it will help you maintain healthy blood sugar control throughout the day, which translates into more stable energy levels, a better mood, and reduced sugar cravings throughout the day. While eggs are great for breakfast, it’s nice to switch things up sometimes with a non-egg breakfast. These blueberry turkey breakfast sausages offer a protein-rich breakfast with a unique but delicious flavor. Best of all, you can prepare batches of these sausages in advance, store them in the freezer, and defrost them the night before, so they’re ready to go for breakfast the following morning.

Ingredients:
- 1 lb Extra Lean Ground Turkey
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp ginger, peeled and minced
- 3/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions:
1. Mix the turkey, garlic, Italian seasoning, ginger, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Mix until combined. Gently fold in the blueberries. Form the meat mixture into thin, even patties, about 4 inches in diameter.
2. Heat the coconut oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the sausage patties for four to five minutes per side until cooked. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:
- Keep leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to three days. Freeze for up to three months. I recommend separating the patties with parchment paper before placing them in a freezer-safe glass storage container, so they don’t stick together and are easier to defrost.
- One serving is equal to approximately two sausage patties.
- To up the ante on the flavor of these homemade sausages, add allspice, black pepper, cinnamon, or thyme to the meat before cooking.
