Health Care Council of Illinois - HCCI

Health Care Council of Illinois - HCCI The Health Care Council of Illinois (HCCI) is the strong, leading voice for nursing home communities across the state.

HCCI strives to bridge the divide between state policy makers and nursing home communities through education and advocacy. Illinois must rein in state spending to solve our financial crisis, but we must protect funding for nursing homes. Holding the line will ensure:

Residents have quality care, food and home-like surroundings. Staff have fair wages and a good work environment. Families can depend on nursing homes to care for their loved ones.

This week, we were thrilled to celebrate our February Long-Term Care Hero of the Month! Devin Duncan, Director of Nursing at Allure of Geneseo, was this month's recipient.💫

Devin has been a nurse for over 20 years, with 14 of those years spent working for this facility specifically. She has a compassionate and caring demeanor that eases residents and their families. Over the years, she has acquired many skills and continued to further her education. In each of her duties, she has the same devotion and attention to residents.

As a dedicated nurse and leader, Devin works countless hours to ensure the facility is fully staffed and each resident is cared for appropriately.

She is helpful and supportive, motivates staff, treats residents with respect, and faces the challenges of being a director of nursing with determination and grace, leading others to follow her example.

Allure of Geneseo is so lucky to have you, Devin! Congratulations on this well-deserved award.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker delivered his eighth budget address earlier today at the State Capitol in Springfield, where HCCI members, Alan Gaffner with the Alden Network, and Shully Lichtman with Caliber Healthcare Consulting were honored to be guests of Illinois Comptroller Susana A. Mendoza.

Before the address, they sat down with the Comptroller and her team to discuss the long-term care industry in our state and thanked her for supporting nursing homes. Since taking office in 2016, ensuring timely payment to long-term care facilities has been a big initiative of the Comptroller’s Office.
