We are now extending the deadline to February 13 to submit education presentations for our inaugural convention in June!
We are still accepting proposals for all of the education tracks listed below, but are particularly seeking more content on infection prevention/control and dementia-related topics.

HCCI is accepting presentation proposals for its inaugural Convention & Trade Show, taking place June 16-18, 2026, at the I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center in Champaign.
The event will feature nationally recognized keynote speakers, continuing education sessions, and an exhibit hall showcasing the latest innovations in long-term care. HCCI invites professionals and thought leaders to share their expertise and help shape the future of long-term and post-acute care in Illinois.

Presentations should align with one or more of the following education tracks: Reimbursement & Financial Strategies, Regulatory & Compliance, Clinical Excellence & Quality Improvement, Technology & Innovation, Leadership & Management, and Workforce & Retention.

It was a great day to honor Toni Clark, Executive Director of Taylorville Estates Assisted Living, who is our January Long-Term Care Hero Award recipient!

Toni is known for truly getting to know her residents. She starts her day walking the halls, greeting them by name, listening, and offering comfort when it is needed. She also leads her team by example, teaching not just how to complete tasks, but how to truly care.

She goes above and beyond to ensure well-being, dignity, and the happiness of every resident entrusted to their facility’s care. She strives to lead with compassion, integrity, and accountability while creating a nurturing
environment where residents feel valued, staff are supported, and families have peace of mind.

Due to the holiday season, we had to wait until the new year to celebrate our December Long-Term Care Hero of the Month, Certified Nursing Assistant from Helia Healthcare of Olney, Paige Bushue!
Paige consistently goes above and beyond to ensure each resident receives compassionate, individualized care while fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment. Her professionalism, empathy, and ability to remain calm under pressure inspire those around her and raise the standard of excellence within the facility.
Paige actively supports quality improvement efforts, strengthens teamwork, and sets a professional example for her peers. Her compassion, clinical excellence, and dedication to continuous improvement make her an irreplaceable part of the facility's 5-Star success story and a true Long-Term Care Hero.

Caliber Healthcare Consulting hosted medical directors and physicians at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield for a full day of learning. HCCI’s Lindsey Hess and Ron Nunziato were honored to participate as guest speakers. The event provided an opportunity for medical leaders to collaborate, gain insights, and explore innovative approaches to patient care.
