Labor Code Section 6401.9 defines workplace violence as “any act of violence or threat of violence that occurs in a place of employment,” but does not include lawful acts of self-defense or defense of others.

How long have you been with the company?
I have been with NSC since February of 2002.

What does your job entail?
As CEO I am responsible for the success of our team of employees. I also ensure we are providing the necessary help any organization that reaches out to us needs to provide a safe workplace. I want to ensure all U.S. workers are returning home safely to their families and communities safely after their work day.

What are the toughest challenges you've had at work?
In order to provide the necessary help to organizations, I must make sure we are delivering our content in a way that is effective and efficient.

When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?
I try to remember the importance of the role NSC serves in ensuring all of the employees it impacts arrives home safely to their families each day from work.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy golf, even though I’m not very good at it.

What has been your favorite memory while working here?
I have many memories spanning 22 years of working here, but in most recent years I enjoy spending time with the employees outside of work hours. We have done several activities such as axe throwing, golf, cooking (although I missed that one), and a Christmas Party each year.

This weeks employee highlight is Taryn! Get to know her below! ✨✨

How long have you been with the company?
I have been working here since January 2022.

What does your job entail?
I am a customer service representative. My job includes communicating with customers via phone and email, providing knowledge of our products, and helping customers resolve issues.

What are the toughest challenges you've had at work?
The toughest challenge that I have at work is serving multiple customers at once, all with different issues, ranging in priority.

When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?
I use my Ipad to take notes and keep track of my to-do list. I also listen to music, youtube, or audiobooks, to make the time go by quicker… lol

Hobby or interests you have outside of work
I enjoy reading, traveling, and going to concerts.

What has been your favorite memory while working here?
My favorite memory while working here has been having special meals together for birthdays and the ax throwing activity that we did after work. It was a great stress reliever.

How long have you been with the company?
I started working here in 2021!

What does your job entail?
I am a customer service representative. That means I work directly with customers to help ensure a smooth process for them.

What are the toughest challenges you've had at work?
I think one of the toughest challenges for me would be when a customer is in a time crunch and I need to solve the problem as quickly as I can to make sure they have exactly what they need!

When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?
While at work I like to listen to music and recently started to listen to “Spring Ambient Sounds” which sounds like birds chirping in the morning. It helps me stay focused and motivated!

Hobby or interest that you have outside of work?
I love reading, drawing, painting, and one of my favorite things to do in the summer is play with our splash pad with my son!

What has been your favorite memory while working here?
One of my favorite memories working here is when it snowed and I got to take a break and go play in the snow! It helped keep my mind sharp.

This weeks employee spotlight is our incredible graphic designer Eric! Today is Eric's birthday, please comment down below "Happy Birthday🎂" We are so thankful he spent his birthday with us at the office, get to know Eric a little bit down below🎉

How long have you been with the company?
"4.5 years"

What does your job entail?
"I work in the graphic design department. I am responsible for the design and layout of our published books, DVD covers, and posters."

What are the toughest challenges you’ve had at work?
"I think the toughest part of my job is that it can get repetitive at times. So I am trying to find new ways to make the work interesting and exciting."

When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?
"Since the work can get tedious at times, I try to motivate myself by being creative where I can. For example, with the design of the cover for our publications and trying to come up with new ideas for future products."

A fun fact about you.
"I am actually Dr. Eric Hall. About 7 years ago, I got my Educational Doctorate while teaching English overseas. Having said that, I just go by Eric at the office here."

Hobby or interest?
"Since I am into graphic design, I try to draw and sketch outside of work. It’s been a hobby for many years but a difficult one to improve on as it takes many hours to really get good at it."

Favorite memory while working here?
"It’s not really just one memory, but I really enjoy the people I work with. It’s great to come into work each day and have good people to talk to and collaborate with."
