As a reminder, the upcoming change in mask policy does not include health care settings (such as our clinic). Axis PT, and all the businesses in our building, will continue to follow OHA guidance for ongoing indoor masking to continue protecting people who are at higher risk of serious illness. If you have questions you can check out the OHA website. Thank you for your support and continued care for our community!

Oregon will lift mask requirements for schools and most indoor public places on March 11 at 11:59 p.m.

Therapist Spotlight

Hey! I’m Erin Enright. I do most of the social media and marketing for Axis. I’m also a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. I started at Axis 14 years ago (in 2008). It’s been an honor to spend so many years growing and working with my mentors: Leigh Ann Turner and Christina Howard.

I graduated from the PTA program at Lane Community College 11 years ago, then transferred to Southern Oregon University where I also earned a Bachelor’s in Applied Science for Business Management.

I grew up in Colorado and was the girl’s cross country and track captain for 4 years in high school. I also spent 12 years playing softball and basketball growing up. Now I spend my free time hiking and mountaineering with my hubby and kids. We are avid outdoors people. I am in love with nature photography and try to capture all of the beauty that I can during our family adventures.

I love working in PT because it makes me feel a deep meaningful purpose in life. I love to watch patients grow in their health and see them gain more confidence as they strengthen their connection to their body. I am also certified in reflexology. I love to help patients feel stronger and have more ease of movement, include more self care strategies in their lives, teach techniques for improving quality of breathing, reduce tension in the body, and help patients to understand pain science. Axis is such a wonderful clinic to work for because they always put patient care first. I love my job. 💕

Employee Spotlight time!!

Patricia Brattain has been a Physical Therapist at Axis for 10 years, after graduating from Western University of Health Sciences.

"I love being a PT because I am able to teach people about their body, how it works and how to work with their body to do what they need/enjoy to do."

Patricia's seasonal hobbies include skiing and wakeboarding. She recently took up golf. More regularly her selfcare routine includes yoga and walking.

In this picture she is on one of her daily walks with Teddy (her Goldendoodle) and Ellie (her 4 year old daughter).

Stacy Ward, LPTA, has been a Physical Therapist Assistant at Axis PT for 4+ years.

Fun fact about Stacy:

Basketball is her first love. She was born and raised in Eugene, and played basketball for Willamette High School and Northwest Christian College (Bushnell University). Now that her playing days are over, she loves cheering on the Oregon Ducks and the Portland Trailblazers.

Favorite way to stay active:

She started running for fitness in 2010 and has since fallen in love with running and the local running community. She also enjoys hiking the local trails and family walks in her neighborhood.

We have another new face at Axis PT that we'd like to introduce. Alice will be doing billing and insurance authorizations on our healthcare administrative team.

Alice Maidment is a graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelors in Kinesiology. She continued on with her education at Western States University studying Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. Alice has worked in women’s health care and health administration for nearly 10 years. Outside of work she spends a lot of time outdoors hiking, camping, playing adult slow pitch softball leisurely and competitively and working in her garden. Through nutrition and exercise she has helped individuals secure a healthy and active lifestyle.

Please allow us to introduce our newest team member: Physical Therapist Kimberly Van Winkle, DPT

Kimberly graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013 from Georgia State University in Atlanta. She moved to Eugene in 2014. While she has worked in a variety of PT settings, her favorite is outpatient orthopedic. She enjoys working with patients across the age spectrum from age 10 to 103; she has a special interest in working on lower body injuries and helping patients return to sport, work and life. She is excited to be a part of the Axis PT care team and to incorporate use of the therapy pool when appropriate. Her treatment approach utilizes a combination of manual therapy techniques along with purposeful movement to guide healing.

When she isn’t at work, you’ll likely find her on the local trails as she enjoys running and hiking long distances. She also volunteers with Eugene Mountain Rescue, a division of Lane County Search and Rescue.
