Congratulations to our newest Caregiver of the Month, Breanna B! She goes above and beyond to make sure that her client feels heard, seen and is well cared for at all times. Brea is a go getter who is always happy to help in any way possible. She has a calming but bubbly personality that allows her to build meaningful relationships with our patients. Everyone that comes in contact with her has nothing but wonderful things to say! There truly aren't enough good things out there to say about Brea and all she does. Thank you so much for all you do Brea, we can't wait to see what your future has in store!
1. How long have you been a nurse?
"5 years, I graduated nursing school in 2020"
2. What is your favorite thing about working with our organization?
"Working with patients one-on-one, you really get to know and bond with them. Maxim is not an overbearing company to work for, they truly trust and respect their nurses. Plus, they are always just a phone call away if you need them and I really appreciate that. "
3. What is the most rewarding experience youβve had while being a nurse?
"Helping others and feeling as if you have made a difference each day. I am humbled and amazed by my patients daily. As nurses we get the opportunity to teach our patients medical knowledge, but if you allow them they have so much to teach us in return. My time as a nurse has taught me to take nothing for granted, to enjoy the little things, and that a smile and kindness can make all the difference. "
4. What made you want to work in the healthcare field?
"Growing up I wasnβt sure what I wanted to be, but I remember some of my family members being in and out of the hospital. After seeing my ill family members experience the caring nature & knowledge of the healthcare professionals, I knew those examples had made a positive impression on me. There is nothing more human than being the light in someone elseβs darkest hour."
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
"In my free time I like to read and write, cook and try new foods, grab coffee, and go to garage sales to repurpose my finds. I also love to go to concerts, hike with my dogs, camp, fish, garden, travel, and be with my family and friends."
6. What advice would you give someone wanting to be a nurse?
"There are so many different opportunities and paths you can take if you choose to be a nurse. If you are thinking about being a nurse my best advice would be to keep an open mind and be down to earth. Itβs essential to have patience and never be judgmental. You never stop learning, not as a nurse or as a human-so be kind to yourself along the way too. Being a nurse can be challenging but the journey is so worth it! One person canβt change the world, but you can create a chain reaction with small acts of kindness. Those small gestures of kindness can have a huge impact on someone elseβs life. "
