After almost a decade of working with teen girls, several themes were revealed to me. These themes included things like low self worth, negative body image, lack of boundaries in relationships, and an overall lack of helpful coping skills.

These things only got worse when the pandemic hit and we now have data from places such as the CDC who confirms that teen girls specifically, are struggling more than ever.

To better meet the mental health needs of teen girls today, I have created an eight week virtual group that will address the above mentioned areas and more. This group will have a Christian focus and will draw from modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy.

Virtual group therapy allows more individuals to obtain support due to the lower cost and ease of being able to join from home. The benefits of group therapy have been known for many years. We know that group therapy can reduce isolation and provide a safe space where you can learn from others, giving and receiving support.
