A poem about addiction

In shadows deep, where demons dwell,
A tale unfolds, of heaven and hell.
A haunting dance, a twisted fate,
A solemn ode to addiction's weight.
Through hazy veils of smoke and despair,
Lies a soul consumed, trapped in its snare.
A siren's call, a venomous embrace,
A shattered spirit, lost in the chase.
In veins that ache, with each fleeting high,
Whispers of pleasure, mingled with sighs.
A numbing touch, a false euphoria,
A tragic waltz, a macabre aria.
With trembling hands and bloodshot eyes,
The addict seeks solace, his soul defies.
A cruel master, addiction's cruel reign,
A relentless craving, a relentless pain.
Oh, the abyss that beckons, so deep and wide,
Where shattered dreams and hopes reside.
A hollow vessel, a vessel so frail,
Engulfed by cravings, a harrowing tale.
And as the days turn into endless nights,
The addiction feasts, devouring all light.
A desolate existence, a world of decay,
Where hope is but a memory, slowly fading away.
In silent torment, the addict remains,
Bound to the chains of his self-inflicted pains.
A tragic symphony, a mournful dirge,
As addiction consumes, the soul does purge.
So let us bear witness, to this harrowing plight,
To the darkness that consumes, day and night.
May our hearts be moved, our empathy stirred,
To reach out with compassion, with love unblurred.
For addiction's grip is a formidable foe,
But with understanding, we can help it let go.
In unity and support, we find our way,
To guide the lost souls, from addiction's sway.
In this somber verse, a plea to amend,
A cry for compassion, a message to send.
Let us stand together, hand in hand,
To heal the broken, in this desolate land.
-THE END -
