At SCCTC, we recognize the opportunity that exists for our students, and thus, tailor our curriculum to give students a solid base of knowledge that will best prepare them for their chosen fields. Our program offers the hands on experience that helps our students succeed. Armed with this practical education experience, SCCTC students are better prepared to enter the workforce or to transition seamlessly into post graduate studies. A Medical Assistant is a professional, multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of the medical office under the direct supervision of a physician. Medical Assisting is a rapidly growing career and is expected to be one of the ten fastest growing career fields in the nation during the next decade. Medical Assisting is for the individual who is genuinely interested in helping others in a confidential & professional setting. This course offers entry-level training for those who want to work in a medical office or clinical setting performing clinical, receptionist and lab duties. Medical Assisting students learn to become multi-skilled employees who display professionalism, utilize communication skills and who assist physicians in providing patient care. Medical Assistant jobs are available in doctor’s offices, health care clinics, and certain hospital departments. Students also become employed in this profession while furthering their education in other health fields. More than 50% of students in this program continue their education at the college level. CSCC provides the opportunity to earn a Tech Prep scholarship totaling $2,400 for students who meet academic and attendance requirements.

🎉 Help us congratulate our newest NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technicians! 🩸👏

To earn this credential, students completed rigorous training including 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks, while learning the science behind it all — from blood groups and coagulation to patient care, safety, ethical standards, medical terminology, and specialized collections. That’s some serious skill (and steady hands). 💪
