Springfield Christian School was birthed in the heart of Richard Strickland and became a reality in 1976. Springfield Christian School received its charter from the Ohio State Board of Education in 1977. We are a Christ-centered, Bible-based pre-k through 8th grade program and exist for families who believe that parents have been entrusted with the ultimate responsibility for the education and development of their children. Springfield Christian School is a non-denominational campus with an outreach to families who want and value Christian education. It is not required that our families have a church affiliation. We are an evangelistic outreach. Our mission is to awaken in our children the understanding that God has fearfully and wonderfully created them and that He has a plan for their lives. We encourage our students to explore and understand God’s creation through the lens of revealed Biblical truth and in doing so to realize their potential for success, no matter their circumstance. We strive to create an atmosphere that is conducive to worship, wisdom, education, discipline and obedience. That passion is driven by Colossians 2:2-3, “That our children may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Springfield Christian School stands as an example of God’s amazing grace and promise. We have endured hardship, calamity, insult and uncertainty and yet we remain in the heart of urban Springfield, Ohio filled with vision and hope. There are so many wonderful stories that can be told about the children who have attended Springfield Christian School. Some are Hollywood actors, Grammy award winning singers, successful doctors, nurses, business men and women, stay at home moms, dads who drive trucks across the nation’s highways, pastors, teachers and the list goes on and on. There is a common thread that unites each of them. That is the man Christ who “while we were yet sinners”, gave His life for each and every one of them. He alone gives them value and purpose. It is our mission to help them understand that.
