Beautiful Fight Woodworking

Beautiful Fight Woodworking We specialize in making Handcrafted, Custom Farmhouse Furniture. From small home decor to fully furn

My beautiful fight began on December 19, 2011 in the time span of a couple weeks I was told that I had a large tumor choking out my spinal cord and paralyzing me from the waist down. They had little hope that I would ever walk again, but scariest of all I had an extremely rare spinal cancer that there were only 50 other cases of in the world. With the help of God, friends, family, my community, my medical team, two surgeries, months of physical therapy, and 5 weeks of radiation, I was able to beat cancer and relearn how to walk. What I learned at that time changed my life; that the worst ugliest hardest and most difficult thing of my life could eventually become the most beautiful. Now with the help of my partner, friends, and family, we apply the same thought to our home décor and woodworking. We take the unwanted, beaten up, ugly, rusty, and forgotten pieces and return them to a state a beauty. Whether or not it's a piece that is made out of reclaimed wood or new lumber, we try to take simple and natural approaches to our designs. We try to reduce and reuse as much as possible even down to the screws we use! This not only has a positive impact on our environment and community but to your wallet as well. Let us make a custom piece for you that not only is beautiful, full of quality, and locally handmade but that reminds you every time you look at it that the most difficult and ugly can become beautiful.

🚨🚨We have some big changes happening at BFW, please take a moment to read ⬇️🚨🚨

With heavy hearts we are sad to announce that we will be closing at the end of the year.

Before I go any further, we ARE COMPLETING ALL ORDERS PREVIOUSLY PLACED. It’s just taking more time than expected here’s why….

We have poured every single part of ourselves into this business. We did everything possible to adapt and accommodate our customers through the pandemic, while experiencing 300% increase in lumber costs and shipping nightmares. We pushed through hoping it would balance out but unfortunately my body had other plans.

Earlier this year we were terrified my cancer had returned. Luckily I am still cancer free but I was diagnosed with Lupus. I am not able to safely continue working in the shop at the same level without risking my health. Heather has been incredible helping keep BFW going, there were months she was running it all by herself.

Life handed us another curveball when Heather’s father was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. With that comes not only the desire to focus on family but also balancing her time between here and there as she helps with food and doctors appointments. It has become physically impossible for us to keep up with orders and we have to focus on our family.

To allow us to complete our backlogged orders we have stopped taking orders on our website and page for several months now (why we haven’t posted either). We will continue to complete those orders and have everything delivered/shipped by the end of the year. I understand those who placed orders expected them within an 8 week time-frame and we apologize for the delay and inconvenience it has caused. Please know we truly are working as diligently as possible and we appreciate your patience with us.

Those who have rallied for us, purchased from us, and supported us through the most incredible journey ever, THANK YOU. It is humbling to look back from where we started. I don’t think either one of us expected BFW to blossom and grow like this. For years we have advocated for hope and finding beauty in the dark and scary moments. Thank you to those who shared their stories and their journeys with us. I will continue to lean on those stories as a source for hope, so thank you.

I could go on for days but Heather says I need to stop rambling! So thank you for an incredible 7 years, we will deeply miss y’all.

Our Story- Our Beautiful Fight

Our Beautiful Fight began on December 19, 2011 in the time span of a couple weeks Brittany was told that she had a large tumor choking out her spinal cord and paralyzing her from the waist down. They had little hope that she would ever walk again, but scariest of all she had an extremely rare spinal cancer and there are only 50 other cases of it in the world. With the help of our friends, family, community, her medical team, two surgeries, years of physical therapy, and 5 weeks of radiation, she was able to beat cancer and relearn how to walk with modifications. What we learned during that time changed our lives; that the worst, ugliest, hardest, and most difficult part of her life could eventually become the most beautiful. That we could take this terrible hand we had been dealt and make the most of it! Everyday we deal with the long term effects and modifications she needs from having a rare spinal cancer and a spinal cord injury, and to be honest it hasn't always been easy. Woodworking means so much much more to us then just being our job, it has become therapeutic and breath of fresh air in the midst of chaos. It has brought beauty back into a dark and scary time.

Now with the help of our family, and friends, we apply the same thought to our home décor and woodworking pieces. This not only has a positive impact on our environment and community, but to your wallet as well. Let us make a custom piece for you that not only is beautiful, full of quality, and locally handmade but that reminds you every time you look at it that the most difficult and ugly can become beautiful once again.

Thank you for getting to know us a little bit and sharing in our journey!!
