🌟 Wrapping Up Vet Tech Week with a Big Congratulations to Kim, CVT! 🌟

We’re closing out Vet Tech Week by celebrating our newest Certified Veterinary Technician, Kim! 🎉 Kim just passed her VTNE exam on Wednesday, and we couldn’t be more proud of her!

Kim’s journey with Animal Emergency Clinic started several years ago while she was still in tech school. From her externship days to now working full-time as a CVT, she has shown incredible dedication, growth, and passion for emergency medicine.

Her calm demeanor, eagerness to learn, and strong work ethic make her such a valuable part of our team. We’re so excited to watch Kim continue to grow and hone her skills as she takes on her new role — and we know she’ll shine in the fast-paced world of ER veterinary medicine.

🌟 Vet Tech Week Appreciation – Celebrating Erica, CVT! 🌟

Erica has experienced many different areas of veterinary medicine throughout her career, but she’s discovered that emergency medicine is truly where her heart belongs. The constant challenge, critical thinking, and teamwork of ER life are what keep her soul engaged — and we couldn’t imagine the AEC team without her!

As one of our full-time Certified Veterinary Technicians, Erica brings an incredible mix of skill, composure, and compassion to every shift. She’s the kind of tech who can stay calm under pressure, handle even the toughest cases with confidence, and still take the time to mentor and support those around her. Her guidance and patience have made her an amazing coach for new hires as they learn the ropes of emergency medicine.

Outside of the clinic, Erica keeps busy with her backyard flock of chickens, ducks, and even peacocks — and we love hearing her stories (and random fun facts!) that always seem to brighten a long shift.

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Cassie, CVT 🌟

Cassie’s journey with Animal Emergency Clinic started years ago when she was a vet tech student getting her first taste of emergency medicine. Now, she’s come full circle — working full-time as one of our amazing ER technicians! 💙🐾

You can often find Cassie in the back as one of our treatment technicians, providing top-notch care to our hospitalized patients. From placing IV catheters and running lab work to monitoring anesthesia and managing critical cases, Cassie does it all with confidence and compassion.

She’s also a natural mentor — always patient, encouraging, and eager to share her knowledge with future vet techs. Her dedication to both her patients and her team makes her an invaluable part of AEC. 💉✨

🌟 Happy Vet Tech Week! 🌟

Next up, we’re celebrating Alex, one of our amazing part-time Certified Veterinary Technicians here at Animal Emergency Clinic! 💚

Alex has been with us for a few years now, spending her Saturdays with the AEC team while working full-time managing a general practice during the week. Her upbeat attitude, compassion, and skill make her such a valuable part of our crew.

As an emergency technician, Alex is a pro at placing IV catheters, drawing blood, running lab work, monitoring anesthesia, providing critical patient care, and keeping calm when things get hectic. She’s also one of our go-to cat wranglers, with a soft spot for all our feline friends. 🐱💉🐾

Recently, Alex has stepped into our triage technician role — the face that greets you at the front desk, quickly assesses your pet’s condition, and obtains history and vitals on every patient coming through our doors. Talk about a busy position! She handles it all with grace, efficiency, and a smile.

Today we’re celebrating Tomi, one of our incredible Certified Veterinary Technicians here at Animal Emergency Clinic! 🩺💙

Tomi has been a consistent part-time member of the AEC family for many years, and we’re so grateful she chooses to spend her evenings and weekends with us after putting in full-time hours at her day practice. Her dedication, skill, and positive attitude never go unnoticed!

Tomi is a jack of all trades — organized, focused, and always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed. From placing catheters and running lab work to monitoring anesthesia and providing compassionate patient care, she does it all with precision and heart. 🐾

She’s also our go-to source of vast knowledge — whether it’s agility, scent work, all things Corgi-related, or her newest adventures in the horse world, Tomi keeps us learning something new every day.

🦟 August 20 is World Mosquito Day — and while these tiny pests might seem like just a nuisance, they pose a serious threat to your pets.

At Animal Emergency Clinic of Springfield, we want to remind you that mosquitoes are the primary carriers of heartworm disease — a potentially deadly condition that affects both dogs and cats.

Just one bite from an infected mosquito can transmit heartworm larvae.

Heartworm disease is often silent until it's severe.
