As we wrap up our Gratitude Series, we want to take a moment to thank the entire Animal Emergency Clinic team.

From our Client Service Representatives and Veterinary Assistants to our Technicians, Kennel Staff, Managers, and Doctors — every single person plays a vital role in caring for pets and supporting the people who love them.

Because of this incredible team, our doors stay open 24/7 — days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Emergency medicine isn’t easy, but this group shows up every shift with compassion, skill, teamwork, and heart.

We are so proud of the dedication, resilience, and kindness that lives within these walls.

❄️ We’re OPEN Today — Even in the Winter Weather! ❄️

Despite the snow and potential for below-zero wind chills, Animal Emergency Clinic is open and here for your pets 24/7. If your pet needs urgent care, please travel safely and don’t hesitate to call us.

🐾 Winter Safety Tips for Pets 🐾
Cold weather can be dangerous — especially during extreme wind chills. Keep your pets safe with these reminders:

• Limit time outdoors — short potty breaks only in extreme cold
• Wipe paws after walks to remove ice, snow, and salt
• Watch for frostbite & hypothermia (shivering, lethargy, pale or cold skin)
• Keep pets indoors — even hardy breeds are at risk in sub-zero temps
• Check antifreeze spills — it’s highly toxic but smells/tastes sweet
• Provide warm bedding and keep pets away from drafts
• Never leave pets in vehicles during freezing temperatures

If you’re concerned about your pet or notice any signs of cold-related illness, we’re here to help — day or night.

🌟 Gratitude Series: Katie 🌟
Our final highlight (for real this time!) goes to Katie. She joined AEC right after graduating high school, and from day one her kindness and dedication were impossible to miss. Though she has since gone on to care for human babies as an RN, her heart has always belonged to the kittens — and we love that about her.
We are so grateful that she still chooses to spend a few shifts a month with us. Whether she’s cuddling a tiny neonate, jumping in to help the team, or sharing her calm, gentle presence, Katie brings a special kind of warmth to every shift she works.
Thank you, Katie, for your compassion, your loyalty, and your love for the littlest patients. We’re so lucky you continue to call AEC home. 💙🐾✨

To wrap up our Gratitude Series, we are proud to recognize Kaylee! 💙🐾

Kaylee is a busy second-year veterinary student at the University of Illinois, and we are so grateful she still chooses to spend her weekends with us when she isn’t buried in books or labs. She joined us last summer, and her passion for learning — combined with her compassion for every patient — has made her a wonderful part of our team.

The hands-on experience she’s gaining here will no doubt serve her well in her future career as a veterinarian, and we can’t wait to cheer her on every step of the way. She has a bright future ahead, and we’re so lucky to be a small part of her journey!

Continuing our Gratitude Series, today we celebrate Carol! 💙

Carol is one of our amazing overnight Client Service Representatives, and we are so thankful she chooses to spend her nights with us. Many of you may recognize her friendly smile from the front desk of a day practice — and we’re lucky she brings that same warmth and professionalism to AEC each week.

She keeps our busy nights organized, supports worried pet parents with kindness, and helps make sure every patient is checked in quickly and efficiently. Her calm presence and outstanding communication are such a comfort during those late-night emergencies.

Next up in our Gratitude Series is Asile 💙

Asile is one of our newest veterinary assistants and kennel attendants, but she has already become an essential part of our team. She pulls double duty caring for our hospitalized patients — making sure they get their walks, comfort, and clean spaces — while also keeping our clinic running smoothly behind the scenes.

If she isn’t restocking, organizing, and keeping things spotless, you’ll find her helping with treatments or filling medications to ensure every patient receives prompt care. Her hard work, positive attitude, and willingness to jump in wherever she is needed make her such a wonderful addition to AEC.

We are so grateful she chose to join us — thank you for all you do, Asile! 🐾✨

Next up in our Gratitude Series is Abby! 💚🐾

Another GP-to-ER transplant who jumped right into the fast-paced world of emergency medicine with such grace. Abby is one of our wonderful veterinary assistants who you’ll often find in rooms, guiding clients and their pets through each step of their visit. From reviewing treatment plans to helping our doctors carry out care to sending patients home with clear and supportive discharge instructions — she’s there from start to finish.

Her calm presence, bright smile, and ability to make both pets and people feel comfortable make her an invaluable part of our team. We are so grateful to have Abby bringing her kindness and skills to AEC! 🌟❤️🐶🐱

She may be one of our newest team members, but she has already become such an important part of AEC. As one of our compassionate CSR team, Heidi is often the first friendly face you’ll see or the calming voice you’ll hear when you call. ✨

Her positive attitude, kindness, and willingness to help wherever needed make those stressful emergency moments just a little easier for our clients and their pets. We are so thankful she chose to join the AEC family and we can’t wait to watch her continue to shine! 💫

💙 Next in Our Gratitude Series: Tim! 💙

Tim has been with us for just about a year now — though with his quick learning, strong skills, and seamless adaptability, it feels like he’s been part of the AEC crew much longer!

Another talented GP assistant turned night-shift ER pro, Tim jumped into emergency medicine with enthusiasm and hasn’t looked back. He brings laughter, good energy, and a positive attitude to every shift, helping keep the night crew smiling even on the busiest of nights.

We are so grateful he made the switch to ER, and we can’t wait to watch him continue to grow and thrive with our team. AEC is lucky to have him! 🐾💙
