The 2025 Healthcare Careers Camp with Central Illinois Area Health Education Center, inspired 29 students (15 area high schools) to consider a wide variety of healthcare careers! Our partners from the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State, UIC Nursing and Lincoln Land Community College previewed 10 different local healthcare career education programs while clinical and non-clinical professionals shared their expertise through demonstrations & presentations.

At 11 a.m. today, the Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS paused to honor all the military personnel and first responders who have served and sacrificed for our country. Folds of Honor Friday, sponsored by Compliance Solutions, raised awareness for Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization providing scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military members and first responders. Suresh Krishnan has been named chief information officer at Memorial Health, effective July 28.

Suresh brings more than three decades of healthcare technology leadership, with a proven track record of advancing digital transformation across integrated health systems, academic medical centers, and community hospitals. Most recently, he served as chief technology officer at Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he successfully deployed Epic Hyperdrive for 16,000 users. This experience will be crucial as Memorial implements Epic during the next few years.

Suresh also has worked extensively with AI tools to enhance clinical operations, data analytics and patient care delivery, and has significant experience with cybersecurity. He is no stranger to Illinois, having spent much of his career serving healthcare organizations in the Chicago region.

Volunteers from our 5 Memorial Health hospitals pitched in last week to help local nonprofits with different tasks, from urban gardening to stocking food pantry shelves to beautification work to staffing community event activities & more. It was a great turnout for the American Hospital Association’s Community Health Improvement Week!
